I love his ballads, but this just feels like I'm listening to him improvise lyrics at his therapy session. It's not terrible, nothing he does ever is, it's just not what I was hoping for, and I don't know if it will be a multiple listening record for me. I've dealt with a lot of loss in my life and sometimes it can be too much in songs that you know aren't fictional. Just like how I've only listened to Stage Four by Touche Amore once and never have to listen to it again.
This is only my first listen, so it could grow on me, but right now I'm just feeling depressed.

New album by the Shaking Sensations is very good, as expected. Anyone else give it a listen yet?

Appreciate the speedy responses from everyone so far.  (Already halfway there.)  I won’t be able to reply with exact costs for another 8-9 hours, so no rush for the remaining 3.  I do thank you all for the proficiency though.

Disagree for the most part. I like how it matches their other covers colored pencil cartoon style. The girl outline is a little cheesy looking compared to the rest, but it looks much better when you squint your eyes a bit.

Now as for a cover that ACTUALLY deterred me from buying it, that prize goes to Nothing's last record.

Maybe some of you slept on Beware of Safety "Lotusville" as I did (it's been 5 years and I still haven't heard it yet, didn't know they had even newer release; I lost connection probably due to leaving Mylene Sheath back then..) - here's your chance:

    Warning: APPRECIATION POST

I just want to take this opportunity to thank whoever posted the Spotlights link in here a month or so ago.  You deserve a gold star for it because it is wicked awesome. I've been listening to it a lot and I think it has staying power for me.It strikes the perfect balance between heavy (guitar) and gaze (vocals). It's recommendations like these that keep me coming back, because there is no way I would have found it otherwise. So, a general thanks for all those who post and continue to post new bands.

In other news, The Shaking Sensations quietly dropped another solid new track a few weeks ago. Probably my most anticipated instrumental release late in the year. Proof that meat-and-potatoes post-rock can still be done well.

Also, for any post-metal fans in here the new Cranial album seems like it’s gonna be huge. First track is so dense, so riff-heavy. I love it. http://thesludgelord.bandcamp.com/album/alternate-endings

Okay holy fuck dude.  Friday has Au Revoir, Shy Low, PRAY FOR SOUND and Ranges.  You need to fucking see those bands.  Shy, Low and Au Revoir are some of the heaviest and moodiest post-whatever bands, and are absolutely amazing.  Pray For Sound may just be the most upbeat post-rock band ever, and are completely FUN.  Ranges is moody and powerful and heavy and fairly stereotypical, but done incredibly well.

To miss those 4 bands is a big mistake.  Shy, Low is essentially the main reason I'm flying out there

Nicely done, and you hit the nail on the head.  Supporting a good label, securing variants ahead of time, and less headache

Glad to have you in the bullpen for this one, as life has thrown yet another curveball in the form of a possible herniated disc in my back - i'm glad you were able to make it all work, and this seems to have gone exactly as all mine have gone!

We’re locked in.  Everyone who submitted a request for the group-buy have their variant(s) reserved.  Elusive will be sending out an invoice tomorrow for our totals.  The best part is that these ship out as soon as we coordinate our group’s payment.

Would prefer those that’ve commented on the /150, so far, to stick with our Elusive Group buy if possible.  Really trying to avoid any last-second adjustments or ending up with an extra copy when it’s all said and done.  I have ample mailers and I’m going to be printing out everyone’s addresses — really not too much extra work on my end, I don’t mind at all.

I will keep this thread bumping with any and all updates.  Reminder that at the time of reading this past, we have just over 12 hours to respond to the label with our tentative order.  (Still no word on bundling in LY, Equinox, but I’m 90% sure that’s just fine.  Should hear back from Elusive once I’m up early tomorrow morning.)

My copy arrived last week from the Kapitan, gorgeous packaging and stellar pressing. One of the very few cases where the final product looks exactly like the mock-up.
Very well done guys, this is a banger!
