Random, completely unnecessary factoid about this thread:
OG post on April 19th (not sure of exact timing), at 9:55pm that night an EF3 tornado ripped through my town in Oklahoma. We were fortunate to only sustain non-life threatening damage. But man, thanks a lot Heavenward, this album rips hard enough that even the weather had to react to the pre-order announcement 😅

Forgive me, I'm blind and slow, where did it say this has been remastered/new stampers?

Just got a chance to listen to this all the way though at work... I'm in love. Save for some production choices on Paloma, I dug the track and all the other tracks within the context of the album.

My wife: "Why are we having to declare bankruptcy???!!"
Me: "I have no idea"
Also me: *pays $48 for one damn song*

I’m in progress of digging through my emails and adding all my record purchases over the last decade to my pre-order spreadsheet. Then I’ll have some cold hard stats on how prices used to be.

I want these really bad but $60 shipped for 3 single lp's is a lot of money.
Also was just randomly reminiscing about the good ole days going through this threads past comments, and this one really got me. a 3 LP bundle nowadays will run you prolly $100 shipped.

Can't figure out how to insert/embed this IG post, sometimes I wish I was smart 😒
The band posted on their IG account about tour exclusive variants (/1000) of each of their first 3 albums now being available on tour. Nothing yet if there's a retail/indie/other variants coming soon or in the works.
I'm seeing them Aug 11th, so cross your fingers that they still have copies of Virgin and Simple Math as those are the only two I lack in my collection.

I’m still waiting for a pressing of III….I love that album and it bums me out that it doesn’t exist outside of the b-sides 7”
Same. "Oh, Lonely Grave" is one my Top 5 MATSOD songs

So glad I didn't bite on the boxset

Am I having a stroke? Is the bundle for all 3 albums MORE than purchasing the exact same variant of each separately??????????????
UPDATE: I was having a stroke. It's $5 cheaper. I'm an idiot and have a nice day ✌️

And the plot thickens.
As we're dealing with more and more of this...we're finding out more disappointing things. We knew that my father left no will. We've accepted that. But now, as we've started digging into all paperwork and docs we're finding to contact all of his pertinent finances and whatnot, we have been made aware that he had no life insurance via his pension plan. And the pension plan payout to his my mom, his beneficiary, is going to be a pittance. And that's what we know so far.
So the stress levels are off the charts...esp. my mom. How are we going to afford the mortgage, property taxes, insurance (home & car) and everything else we've been left with?
I feel that it may not have been intentional on my father's part to leave a mess...but he was always such a proud man and hopeful that he would beat the cancer and would be OK. But it wasn't to be as we're here now.
I just needed to vent for a moment.
Man, this is horrible. So sorry you're having to deal with this. I'm not going to sit here and try and tell you what to do, or even act like I'd know what to do, but know that we're thinking about you.

There are lots of knowledgeable people here, but most of us are grumpy and/ or sarcastic. Don't take it personally.
This sounds familiar...

Active listening? Weekly. Passive listening? Every couple days. Also, my wife doesn't work, so sitting down to actively listen to the new DRAIN album is not typically in the cards. It's much more likely that I can throw on a record like that while I'm doing stuff around the house. But the wife and I do have a large overlap in musical taste, so we do sit down and listen as well, just not as often.
Thanks for making me question my entire existence!

I don't think it has been posted yet, and not sure if anyone is interested. I have been interested in this since it was announced in what feels like 5 years ago, but That Thing You Do is finally in production.

I thought Madelyn already sounded like a voice memo on the final album 🤷♂️
Nah man, the true voice memo version has way more random 'rustling' noises throughout...

wow those voice note demos must sound beatiful on vinyl, for a whopping 65 bucks + shipping buty hey there is "new" song and a 32 page book!!!. I mean obviously it was better for them without any basic effort instead of just releasing a standard repress for 25 bucks, so it's reasonable.
As much as I'd love to argue with you my friend, gotta say I agree on this one 😅

Is it the TBS I fell in love with back in 2002? Obviously not. But I'm liking both of these new songs for what it's worth
