  1. New 3-song EP Right After I Smoke This... from Webbed Wing announced. Available to stream now and the 7" pre-order is up at Memory Music's site:

Also they're repressing WW's first two albums and expect them in May. You can bundle the new 7" plus both represses for only $52 (same link above) but will have to wait for the 7" until May if you do it that way.

This is seriously so baffling to me. The test presses were done THREE YEARS AGO! They auctioned one off for charity and everything! What the fuck is taking so long?!?

Exactly. I thought I read somewhere that it was in Playtones court now for some reason. Idk it doesn't make sense to me. If the test presses are done/approved. Then that means money was already in the budget for the press. Literally it would be like printing money. I swear these majors careless about printing money and more about finding the next big thing.

  3. Yet another year passes by and still no That Thing You Do! OST. At this point I'm going to be some old man years from now waiting on the god-damn 50th Anniversary press or something. Literally screw whoever is holding that process up.

Also, I can't go this year and was hoping for another year of crap so I wouldn't have FOMO. I was this close to success when I get to the very bottom and see the first pressing ever of The Verve Pipe album 😑At least it's an 'RSD First' and will have a wider release later on in case I miss getting a copy online.

Don’t know  if it’s already posted, so :

The fact that they didnt include the Live In Texas 2xLP in the 'vinyl boxset' is a bit upsetting. But alas, looks like I will be dropping $200+ at some point to get the super deluxe as Live In Texas is one of my grails...

The “new” song “Lost” is great. And honestly broke me a little bit hearing Bennington & the lyrics.

I cried like a fucking baby man. The lyrics were heartbreaking too. Alot of his lyrics have hit so much harder following his passing 😪

So, I got to hear the album in it's entirely last night at a local shop, which was hosting a listening party. I definitely need to listen to it again in a more controlled environment, but overall, I thought it was pretty decent.

My six year old got to be first in line for the free flexi and poster giveaway, so she was really excited about that.

Same. Haha they were just handing anyone who came in for the listening party a free flexi/poster at my local shop, I guess one of the few pros of being in a small city lol

I thought the record was pretty good, but similarly need a good second listen. My first reaction though was it was definitely more chill than anything they've done previously (including After Laughter) Also, I dont recall Hayley's vocal shining as much as they typically do at some point on a record.

Apparently Winter is gonna sound like Elliott Smith.

Don’t know if this has been said before, but:

Spring - optimistic - ‘Island In The Sun’

    Summer - angry - Alt 90s

Autumn - anxious - Dance Rock (Franz Ferdinand)

Winter - sad - 90s Singer Songwriter / Elliott Smith

I'm not a huge fan of Elliott Smith, so not sure if this sounds like him...but after first listen I feel like Winter EP just sounds like some the most Weezer songs the bands put out since White album. Loved 'I Want a Dog' and 'Dark Enough to See the Stars' as well as 'The Deep and Dreamless Sleep'.

I feel like there's a really solid album if you essentially take the standouts from each EP.

I figured I’d set the tone with a helpful one.  My dad is getting back into vinyl a bit and thought of how I’d want someone to respond to him.

No complaints here! My mom is the same way. Every now and then she tries to say something like "Dont you know my generation was at the peak of vinyl?" And I typically say something like "yea but haven't you realized my generation is the one whose perfected it" 😏

It feels like we used to have this thread, but all I can find anymore is the (band or label only) one or whatever it's called.

So glad this thread is getting a reset, always loved seeing peoples collections/setups. Always inspiring

Have you always had your collection 'flip-through' style? How do you like it? That organization method has always intrigued me...

It’s funny you mention OOTV; in the late 90s and early 00s – as a preteen – I really gravitated towards the main singles from S/T and Blue.  But this was way before I started to appreciate full albums front to back, so I never actually checked out anything else by the band.  A shame, I know.

By 2005 I was listening to a lot of VC-core, and really deep-diving “modern” genres, labels, artists, etc.  As a 16 year-old, anything I was listening to at 11 felt prehistoric and corny.  So I didn’t revisit any 3EB for a long while.

It wasn’t until 2011 that a [now] ex of mine was adamant that OOTV is the best 3EB album, and was still held in high regard by her.  So one shift I threw it on to soak it in, and found myself surprised at how fun it was.  It actually kind of inspired me to check out S/T and Blue, end to end.  To this day I hear the singles from those records and think of walking home from school, firing up Winamp on Windows 98 / XP, and procrastinating homework with MSN Messenger.  They’re kind of nostalgic but also kind of ugh.  I think there are far better songs on each album that I enjoy today.

Anyway.  All this to say that I can actively enjoy those first 3 albums quite a bit today, for when that alternative / pop mood strikes.  Ironically enough I had listened to all of OOTV for the first time in a bit, on a drive this past Saturday.  It’s still a very consistent, fun album… I’m surprised it doesn’t get talked about nearly as much as the S/T or Blue.  I’d maybe argue that it’s better than the latter.

Still haven’t even tried out Ursa Major after a decade+.  I couldn’t really tell you what I’m waiting for; maybe I assume(d) with such a large gap between it and OOTV, it must surely not hold up to the first 3 albums.  I’m not really sure.

Same here. We must be about the same age because my connection to 3EB was purely off the radio hits/singles too.  And beginning in 2001 with my discovery of Linkin Park and 'heavier' music, my listening to anything my mom listened to in the 90s was immediately "boring" lol. Which is ironic (pun intended) as I'm in love with all that stuff from the 90s now and have a specific section of my collection dedicated to it.

Anyways, it wasn't until like 2004/2005 when He Is Legend covered "Wounded" did I discover Blue. And similarly, it wasn't until 2010+ before I started exploring S/T & Blue in their entirety. We saw them live in OKC in 2017 for 30th Anniversary Tour of S/T. It was a magical night and Stephen and the band actually sounded great (I was a bit worried lol)

I do remember listening to Ursa Major right after it's release in 2009 (probably because I was downloading anything new from LimeWire at the time). I enjoyed a few songs - checkout "Don't Believe a Word", "Bonfire" and "Dao of St. Paul". They're your typical 3EB stuff.
