  1. It's going to be an upgrade, but how much of an upgrade is worth the cost is what you need to consider. The LP-120 isn't a bad record player that's damaging your records or anything, so there's not urgent need to upgrade. My perspective on it factors in a few things like. 1. What's the resale value of your LP-120? 2. Is it a market that you can find a buyer fairly easy to cover some of the cost of an RP1? 3. What are you paying for an RP1? Is it used so that when you upgrade in a year or so, you can basically sell it for as much if not just slightly less than you paid? If you're thinking of buying the RP1 new, I'd say don't. Then you're eating both the depreciation on your LP-120 and the RP1 for a not-so-major upgrade that is only lasting you a year. But if you can get the RP1 used for a decent price, and sell your LP-120 for a decent price, you might as well go for it. You'll pay a little bit out of pocket for the RP1 upgrade vs what you sell your LP-120 for, but you'll recoup most if not all of it when you upgrade again and sell the RP1. My take on it at least.
  2. Well I guess this is the official nail in the coffin for Gjallahorn. http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/08/20/destinys-gjallarhorn-will-not-be-upgradable-in-year-2?utm_source=IGN%20hub%20page&utm_medium=IGN%20(front%20page)&utm_content=1&utm_campaign=Blogroll
  3. It would be nice if your dealer had even a base RP3/Elys combo set up you could compare the two side by side. The Exact is much more detailed (although that can be both good and bad of course) and punchier in the base than the Elys. I found the Elys to be a big disappointment and skipped right up to the Exact, but would be a nice comparison.
  4. You'd probably need a $4-500 cart on it to start to touch the exact/rp3 combo, something like a 2m bronze or black. I think you need to consider the MMF 5.1 as a $500 table with a $100 cart, and the RP3 as a $900 table and the Exact as a $500 cart. Of course the savings come new vs used, but I fear you're totally underestimating how great of a deal that RP3 is. Hell, even just the RB303 tonearm new is $600.
  5. Do you have one of the stores local to demo it? Because the RP3 with Exact that a VC member is selling will blow that out of the water, if you can splurge for the extra cost. When I heard the MMF 5.1, I thought I wouldn't have paid any more than $600 for it - which isn't far off just the cost of a new Exact cart.
  6. I don't mean to sound condescending here, just an honest question from someone who struggles with this myself - did you read the instruction manual when you set your tonearm up? Should be pretty basic for you on a pro-ject even without a gauge. So you balanced the tonearm, rotated just the inner half to 0, then rotated the entire counter-weight to around 1.75g (I think that's between 15 and 20 if I remember?), then attached your anti-skate weight?
  7. haha woops! Not TOO bummed, but pink/blue swirl sounded kind of cottoncandy-ish. One of my favorite color schemes I have in my collection is the cottoncandy tri-color for Mansions Dig Up The Dead acoustic. Oh well.
  8. So did I miss the post where the pink/blue swirl was changed to just purple? Kind of bummed honestly.
  9. Guess that just gives us something to keep grinding for... Instead of making new, harder content to grind through, just make new hard to get weapons to grind.. Oh well, I'm still excited for the new subclasses. It finally was enough to give me encouragement to play through the story one last time so I had a warlock ready to go.
  10. But with wolfpack rounds being 20% less, how much more damage is it going to do than any other cluster rocket like the crota one? Blanking on the name right now, but you know what I mean.
  11. Well considering it's getting nerfed pretty hard, I think the thought is it's going to end up a wasted exotic slot for most fights. So cool you can finally get one of course if you don't have it already, but not near as much of an impact since in less than a month it's probably going to get far less use. It's the first week he's selling it in like two years, and it's only good for a few weeks. I think red death and now gally have proved Bungie was lying when they said they don't control Xur and that his list is random.

  13. I think this line is fairly important. ALL NEW “AMORY PLATINUM” OFFICIAL COTF MEMBERSHIP CARDBe the first to access tickets and VIP. Be the first to access merchandise (including vinyl, shirts, comics and more).
  14. Ordered, if a deluxe vinyl comes out I'll try to cancel, or sell, either way.
  15. Got to the end of tunnel, and that into song sounds incredible. Still no preorder up
  16. Anyone else just sitting here listening to Coheed while having the page up with train noise just waiting for it to complete? Sometimes it actually compliments the song...or maybe that's my insanity kicking in after hearing way too many train track sounds.
  17. Holy crap this is awesome, you're the best! The last link with the package...wow...
  18. Good tip, thanks! It would be fun to slowly upgrade it...
  19. One of ajxd's limbs probably has more knowledge on equipment than my entire body. How much you asking for just a finger or something?
  20. Thanks for the info! I have a P3 now and love it, but looking to upgrade within a few months to see what a RP6 or higher can produce. RP6's here I've seen go for only a few hundred under new retail (saw one just go for $1800....). So crazy to me, I'd rather just buy new and get the support of a dealer for that little amount of savings. I might have to keep an eye out in the UK market.
  21. Just curious Allen, what do used RP-6's go for over there? Or is that high enough up in the tier that they don't show up often and don't have quite the same used discounts?
  22. I found that deluxe edition in my local record store a few months back, used sitting on a top shelf where I have no idea how many times I probably walked by it without noticing. Got it for about $70 after tax. Was so magical, my first "find" I think ever at this store for used stuff, it's mostly junk or just completely overpriced garbage.
  23. No, but audiomart does and doesn't charge any fees. Does your site offer that?
