  1. 5 hours is hardly a break in period for anything. Not saying it's that, but don't discount it yet.
  2. My local store always had a June date on the red variant, which is why I didn't preorder (shipping records to Phoenix in June is...scary...) and was waiting to just pick up in store.
  3. For all the people in the $600 turntable market, saw this just pop up in audiomart. He's moving so there's even some leverage to sell soon. http://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649198413-project-rpm-51se-with-speed-box-ii-awesome-combo/
  4. Oh no.. I heard he said June or July but he was worried it wouldn't sell well, without elaborating. I was confused, but now it makes sense.
  5. So because you were an idiot and overpaid, someone else should be too? Incredible shit pops up here all the time, and for well under laughable ebay prices. Let alone laughable ebay prices that some douchenozzle was willing to pay AND expects a $19 profit on.
  6. Not going to lie, that doesn't sound like an upgrade worth the price unless you have a buyer lined up for the LP120 at a decent number. I'm sure the U-Turn with an acryllic platter will sound better than your LP120, but not $300+ better. You'd be better off to keep saving and buy something higher up the upgrade ladder, especially if you're willing to go the used route. Consider something like these (and I'm not being partial to any brand, just grabbing some of the "major" ones in a decent price tier): http://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649197591-music-hall-mmf5-with-goldring-1012gx-cartridge/ http://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649178577-mmf-51-se/ http://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649197560-project-xpression-iii-with-dynavector-10x5-cart-pro-mounted/ http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/649197474-turntable-rega-planar-3-with-mayware-tonearm/
  7. With the currency conversion where it is right now, this is a killer deal, assuming they will sell/ship to the States. Floor model of Rega RS1's with the standard warranty for $415 USD. http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/649196512-rega-bookshelf-speakers-rs1-floor-model/
  8. Do you not have an audio dealer nearby that has both to demo? Spending a $1000 without ever hearing something scares me.
  9. Hey guys and gals, I've recently upgraded some of my equipment and looking to sell some stuff. I take great care of all of my stuff, no smoking household, though I do have a dog. I had the preamp for about 6 months and the amp for about a year. Fairly regular use and everything still looks and sounds great. Cambridge Azur 651p (Silver) MM/MC Preamp - I do not have the original box for this. $175 PPD, including paypal fees as merchandise. (SOLD Yamaha A-S500 (Black) Integrated Amplifier 85w x 2. Have the original box and remote, will include the optional iPod dock (adapter type is 30pin, not lightning). $275 PPD, including paypal fees as merchandise. or $250 if anyone is in the Phoenix, AZ area and wants to pickup. Will of course lower for cash pickup over paypal too. Message me if you're interested. Will cut a deal if by chance you're buying both. Here's some pictures. Sorry for the crap phone lighting. 10. A standard household vacuum is fine. The fluid chamber is built into the model, so you don't need to worry about have a wet/dry shop vac. Even says right on their site " It requires no power, and you provide the suction via any home style vacuum with hose attachment."
  11. Travis said this week...calm down, it's Monday morning on the West Coast still.
  12. I just fixed a friend's beogram 4002 that had similar problems. First the tonearm wouldn't raise or lower at all, then it wouldn't snap back up fast enough to not drag across a record when the tonearm assembly was returning at the end of play. It was as simple as getting down into the solenoids and cleaning off the old caked-on grease and adding a drop of singer oil to it along with the other moving parts. Had to remove one c-clip that was really gummed up, but overall it was a pretty simple fix.
  13. How much if I send you my own paper bag? I have bad handwriting.
  14. There are just so many great preamps in the $100 range, this seems like a mistake. maybe at $50, sure, but does anyone have faith they can make a preamp that sounds better than something like an entry model cambridge azur?
  15. That's actually a pretty classy reply, thanks for posting. Although I still don't agree with the logic, I don't resent them for it given the context.
  16. Cant wait! No, just a Bias2. Cart will be my next upgrade. So many choices.
