bluescreenlife got a reaction from batman in PO: Foxing - The Albatross
Got mine today and just spun it. I assume it's the same as earlier pressings sound-wise, but man is it great. Crisp and clear and as little surface noise as I've ever heard. Here's a couple pics for funzies.

Also, I was researching the albatross as a metaphor and found this:

"But when the tide came in there was nothing left, but an albatross hanging from my neck."

Available on black and limited orange w/ deep purple splatter /200.
"You're Doomed. Be Nice. is Rob Crow's first album since his heavily- publicized withdrawal from music – specifically the toxic byproducts of the lifestyle of a touring professional musician attempting to survive in an industry of diminishing returns. Rather than perform, record, and mix every note himself – a trademark of his previous solo endeavors – Crow formed Gloomy Place, a band made up of close friends that includes another member of the beloved Heavy Vegetable. Recorded and mixed by Ben Moore (Hot Snakes), You're Doomed presents a fascinating dichotomy: dynamic, eclectic prog-pop backing alarmingly confessional, often acerbic lyrical themes. This juxtaposition makes for an album of confrontational yet accessible songs filled with wry wit and emotional depth. You're Doomed. Be Nice. is the diamond carved out of a particularly rough chunk of Rob Crow's life – one that's either the first gem of an inspired second act, or the culmination of an undeniably influential career. In either case, the quality of its cut will last a lifetime."

Taking offers, send me a PM. Only played once or twice (with a quality cartridge), I'd say NM condition. Comes with everything: paper bag, lyric book, stickers, patch. More likely to trade for something rare/OOP.

Things that will definitely have me interested in a trade:

Envy On The Coast - Lowcountry
Pinback - Blue Screen Life - blue transparent press
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream - Orange 1993 press
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf - official red translucent press

Maybe you have something cool related to a band I like, check out this list for ideas.

Agreed. Picked mine up today. It's definitely got a hidden beauty. Regular vs. backlit.

bluescreenlife got a reaction from Moff in Ryam Adams - PAX AM Records
Not generally a fan of Pitchfork reviews but I think they make some good points. I've given the album a few listens and it just comes off as underwhelming, weary, and weak. I love Adams but these kind of songs structurally are meant to be explosive pop songs, and he just kind of makes them... boring. Half the time he's singing in this soft lullaby voice, and I'm not sure why. He's a very capable singer and songwriter. But hey, that's just like uh, y'know, my opinion, man.

I've heard that the Academy Fight Song version was first, and others have said Triple Crown was. I have one of each (AFS on black /200 and TC on white /3000). Also what are people's opinions on which press sounds better?
