If it was a bigger distro or label like MerchNow, I’d say go for it. But I typically won’t ever cancel a Bigcartel order that’s closely affiliated with a band. It’s the only reason I didn’t order the night these went up; I felt like I needed to weigh the options a bit more. But who knows? - Orange whip could be a stunner… but it has its work cut out for it. (Goes without saying that the music all sounds the same on them regardless, it’s silly to care so much about a colored record, blah-blah-etc. But it’s VC and I dunno what else we’re supposed to discuss in threads like these until copies ship and we can maybe talk about the tunes.)

They did. At this point I’m just assuming that someone’s ego and interest in trolling are bigger than their want for money – which is nuts – or there’s something in the works that may or may not ever escape legal gridlock. If it happens, it happens, and I’ll be stoked accordingly. Otherwise I’m tired of getting my hopes up.

Yeah… I don’t think it’s going up today, especially if it’s not live in the next hour or so. Kinda’ annoying. Fortunately I don’t think it’ll sell out instantaneously or anything quite like that – I’m just trying to mark it appropriately on my preorder list and get the purchase out of my hair. Silver lining is that the longer PV drag their feet in adding it to the shop, the shorter the wait time [should be] from time of purchase to shipment.

That is pretty good, but I’m curious to know how it’s related to Ænima specifically, and why it features an elderly lady. Maybe they didn’t want to be too on the nose?

I know it doesn’t really matter – especially in context of a QOTSA thread – but on mobile, at least, that album doesn’t come up when searching for “Interpol” in their store. All their other records do, but not TOBTL. It will pop up if you search for it by name, or just “Bright Lights”, though. 🤔

I was curious to see what press you were talking about and don’t even see TOBTL in the Matador ship? Unless I’m missing something or you’re referring to somewhere else. The recent VMP 2LP press is a gem though, through and through. I think every press before that one has been a single LP. There’s no comparison.

Copies of this are starting to appear on Discogs… the variants available so far look to be right on the money and not at all underwhelming. Eager to see how the splatter and marble turn out. I think they may be shrink-wrapped though. By default I am not going to open your record. I know how to package LPs so that they don’t receive seam splits in transit, and I didn’t intend to open and re-sleeve everyone’s order. If you’re fine with this and trust me; cool. But if you strongly feel as though you’d prefer your shrink-wrap slit with the record removed, that is also okay. I am willing to do that. Please just let me know with a reply in this thread – no need to PM – and I’ll make note of it.

There’s apparently been some recent mumblings of Finch reuniting or at least touring again… have you heard anything about it? Definitely a throwback band for me. I still have a copy of WIITB with the VC-sourced silkscreen cover, somewhere on that F section of the shelf.

I actually haven’t listened to the single yet, myself, and was planning to just order a copy and then stream it in ~9 more days. So while I can’t personally weigh in there, I’ve heard from friends that it’s a great track.
