  1. The track list, art, and features on this are so plausibly trash and uninspired that I legitimately skimmed it and thought all of that checks out. Very much on point. Well done.
  2. Oh. I found it… and yeah; gonna’ need something a little more concrete to get hyped. “I’ll believe it when I see it” kinda’ moment there. Sure hope you’re right and it’s around the corner though. That LNOE lineup is legit. I haven’t seen Caspian in a good while. Are they back to writing and touring a new album anytime soon?
  3. Courtesy PSA: song is complete and utter dog shit, and anyone defending it is an obvious troll that is not to be taken anything close to seriously. Nothing new to see or hear in this thread. Continuing to ignore all Used context on VC is still the best practice possible.
  4. You see or hear something new? Today’s its 25th birthday… and I know earlier this year, Stuart said a repress was slated to happen in 2022. Still has a couple of months to work with but it’s been super quiet on that front, unless you’ve seen something more recent.
  5. Well, well, well. These guys just rolled in. Huge shoutout to Red Creek for the amazing packaging job. First time ordering through them and I’m more than impressed. All 7 copies are flawless, not a single corner ding across the entire set. They were stacked inside a thick mailer that sort of folded into 2 more mailers for a triple-layer fort of cardboard. I have never received an international group buy in such good condition. All variants are accounted for, too, if the stickers on the shrink are to be believed. I wasn’t expecting them to show up so soon, and have plans for today / this evening… so I’m sticking to my guns and committing to next weekend to have these all out. Packaging them up and labeling all your orders over the next few days. 👍
  6. It’s got their signature mathy sound bubbling under the surface but the tones in this thing give it so much bite.
  7. https://burial.bandcamp.com/album/streetlands New EP just dropped. Sounds (and looks) way more in-line with those his 2011-2019 run of 12”s. Really cool surprise. $17 shipped on Boomkat which saves a few bucks over bandcamp.
  8. Just to reiterate to everyone in this thread – I agree that bots suck. Scalpers suck. And missing out on limited drops suck. You guys are all aware that I’m not a supporter of any of those things, yeah? 😅 My whole spiel was just on informing yourself what you’re waving your pitchfork at before you grab it and start ranting. (If you really have to.)
  9. The bot argument is not at all moot for the hordes of balding mathcore enthusiasts that were accusing bots of sabotaging their ability to score tickets this morning. Which is a different source of frustration than buying tickets in bulk and using them to scalp. I don’t know what the ticket limit may have been but it’s (always) good practice to keep it reasonably fair for all, yeah.
  10. Oh yeah, I have no doubt they went fast. I knew they would – hell, I’m sure the band and label knew they would – but I was more-so getting at the excessive amount of comments I’ve read online this morning. Ranging from woe-is-me (“Guess I’m not fulfilling my dream concert thanks to exclusive show nights and scalpers. 😞”) to temper tantrums (“FUCK YOU BOTS 🖕 Can’t believe tickets sold out in 0.5 seconds and bots got them all. Rot in hell.”) Just your usual combo of sulking / pouting from people either too slow to the draw or oblivious that there’ll be more dates. And moreover, people who should be old enough to know that this kind of shit happens. Not like I was reading comments on a Billie Eilish show selling out in minutes, you know? It’s okay to be discouraged over missing limited drops - tickets or whatever - but at least have a clue where you’re placing your angst or disapproval before posting publicly, I guess. 🤷‍♂️ Yeah, I am in no way defending scalpers here, or trying to say that bots / scalpers don’t suck. Just speaking to the overwhelming tone of commentary that I’ve seen on today’s tickets.
  11. Band just confirmed about 90% of today’s tickets were valid purchases, which leaves approximately 10% allocated to bots. (Don’t worry; I double-checked the math.) All the bawling and complaining from men pushing 40 has been pretty yikes in itself… but knowing it’s 90% rooted in a false assumption is just icing on the cake. 🤖😭
  12. Copping an inevitable SF / Oakland ticket when it drops, and crossing my fingers it won’t be the same night as Unwound. 🤞
  13. Album continues to get better and better for me. So many people are snoozing on this record and band right now. Just letting everyone know that our order touched down into the US yesterday. FedEx provides an estimate of when it shows up, but it’s also getting flagged for “Operational Delays” and updating its status a bit slow. For example, I did not realize it was supposed to arrive by this evening. But now it’s slated for tomorrow night, despite being in Indianapolis and needing to arrive in California. I’ll believe it when I see it. Regardless, if you’ve been feeling restless or curious about what’s going on, know that we’re close… assuming the order wasn’t thrashed to oblivion, and contains what we ordered. Even if they showed up tomorrow evening, I doubt I will have everything labeled and packaged for a Saturday shipment, so you can realistically expect me to provide you each with a tracking number sometime next week, on or before 10/29. (It really depends on how stacked my afternoon meetings may get throughout the week.) Just being transparent and keeping everyone in the know. Thanks for your patience.
  14. Make it so the only copies being sold on tour are autographed, and $800 a pop. Then a month later announce a wider press for all. Straight out of the Tool playbook.
  15. There’s no way that those 2 Seattle shows are all the Botch we’re getting. If you haven’t seen Brian’s latest post on IG, I’d check it out – it elaborates on the “reunion” of Botch and completely contradicts the idea doing just a couple of one-off shows before going back into hiding again. All that being said, I would absolutely love to take a trip to Seattle to catch them, but I’m willing to (confidently) bet that they’ll play the Bay Area some point sooner than later… which is considerably easier on my car / wallet. Until a wider tour announcement is made though, I’d guess those Seattle shows will sell out pretty quick.
  16. What about new releases, or discovering artists you hadn’t heard before?
  17. Whoops, my bad. I mistook you for someone else who had no interest in the standalone reissues… for like 3 posts, but then ended up buying them anyway and confessing to the thread.
  18. If you subscribe to their newsletter, there’s a customer appreciation coupon code for $5 that goes out tomorrow. It sounds like it can be used on anything. Something to consider.
  19. Maybe make it the only way to get a copy of the S/T included, too. Outside of Challenge though, which of these reissues feature unoriginal art? Or was that the only one? The kicker is that even if you could get something decent for selling your colored variants, and put it towards a lavish boxset… you wouldn’t. 😏 The disease™ is an offshoot of the hobby™ but way more concerning. When you’ve got it, you’ve really got it. Jokes aside I do love these reissues, and the attention that has gone into ‘em is top notch. They’re prized variants worth owning even if they never command big bucks and that’s fine by me. Really cool set.
  20. (Obligatory New Pupper Ideas comment.) Now re-release it all with even better variants in a mega collector’s edition boxset. Include all the bonus content and booklets from the individual era boxsets. A box to end boxes.
  21. What’s everyone’s experience with TSOAF? I still own a copy of Tiger & the Duke, and enjoy it from time to time. I feel like I could never get into LTLHLU… and only parts of TOATS. Not really holding my breath or throwing down to blindly PO whatever this ends up being (an EP?) but will gladly check it out digitally.
  22. What happens if you buy that VIP package with no ticket? You go in early to Q&A with the band, take a pic, and then GTFO?
  23. What did I just witness? If VC followed sea life rules, this is where a newly identified jellyfish floats up from uncharted depths, and folds from the change in atmospheric pressure.
  24. I think that one looks great and may even work better with the album art, too. But can’t deny I’m staking out PV. 👀
