      Ah, see, I think that Parlour Trick song sounds like a cheesy OST score. In which case, you may want to just seek out OSTs for horror films. Seems like that may be what you're after. I will recommend The Caretaker's "An Empty Bliss Beyond This World", if you haven't heard of it. It's an album of vintage samples that are deconstructed and looped to resemble the memory of someone with Alzheimer's. Really great listen.

      Well, those traits are relative to the listener. Some people may find whispering children eerie as hell, while others find it hilarious. For some dark atmospheres, I'd recommend "Excavation" by The Haxan Cloak, or "By The Throat" by Ben Frost. Even if you don't shit your pants, they're still wonderful albums. Swans' "Soundtracks for the Blind" also contains some of the more unsettling tracks I've heard, but they're only sprinkled throughout...
