I'm not trying to bitch and moan about the price of this album - since I've definitely vented enough in the past few weeks - but has anyone truthfully figured out why the base-price on this repress is so atrociously high? From Hot Topic to every record store in general: $32 - $36 seems to be the "cheapest" going rate. And I'm genuinely perplexed as to why. "Because they can" or "because there's a demand" are not valid excuses in my books. I can think of plenty of highly-sought-after represses that were very reasonably priced. And from what I've been reading, there's nothing particular impressive or elaborate as far as the packaging and contents go. It's a legitimate mystery to me.

After one listen, I'd say the new song is pretty fantastic. It really sounds like they've dialed things in and stepped up their game since Roads To Judah. June can't get here soon enough. At least George put on a killer show with that mic stand.

Nothing surprises me on this sub-board, anymore. I honestly don't get why people join just to promote their eBay listings. Completely defeats the purpose of members trying to work out deals with other members, and I'm 100% confident that it doesn't increase their auction's traffic or end price. Reason being, most VC members are smart enough to avoid dumbshit prices and bidding wars. That being said... I think the world would be a better place without members like Fredneck polluting the boards. Just my honest 2¢. It's nothing personal, Freddie -- I'm not singling you out. Even if you're paying the same price, I'd still be grateful to score copies, period. Especially after all the hoop-jumping some of us have had to go through. I personally grew skeptical (and then tired) of Rough Trade stringing me along in the dark. Zero updates, no notifications, stock that disappeared from their shop, and then rumors of very limited copies. I e-mail them and got no reply, either. Needless to say, they're not exactly high on the totem pole of favored labels for me, at the moment. Canceled the order and place and Amazon UK order. Ended up being about the same price. They just showed up today in flawless condition, actually. Would I have loved to secure them for $46 PPD? Absolutely. Am I quite content to finally own them, even at $60 PPD or so? Also absolutely.

I hope not. I'd like to steal that incredible username if it's going to be put to waste.
