  1. Give anything with a mass-press enough time, and it'll become rare. If Brand New is relevant in five years, I can assure you that Daisy will fetch $200+. There's a considerable timeframe between all the hype, hoopla, and hard-ons of the initial exclusivity, and the point where it's so rare that it breaks the bank. I've seen it countless times. And it's exactly why, like the gentleman above, I refuse to pay $45+ (or even $35+) for this record. It's also been confirmed that the packaging is nothing fancy. Literally a case of nasty markups, right now.
  2. 4,000 is indeed a lot, and time has proven that RSD titles eventually saturate the eBay market for cheap. Or at least relatively cheaper than flipper (and even RSD retail) prices.
  3. You guys do realize that the eBay market will be flooded with these, and many will eventually go for < $20, right? And that's assuming it isn't made availavle elsewhere, before then. 4,000 were pressed. Patience is a virtue.
  4. Especially if that's your own auction... I echo mindovermatter, completely. After eBay and shipping fees, you're making, what? - an eight dollar profit? Get the hell out of here.
  5. No. That's all I've got to say on this topic.
  6. I'm pretty sure gkersey helped me out for RSD a few years ago. Dude is definitely backed... though I hardly find that necessary to say, at this point. I would gladly return the favor if I didn't have to work during RSD, and if I had any record store in proximity.
  7. Anyone know how this may unfold? Please read carefully before chiming in with an answer, since the situation is a little more deceptive and layered than your typical auction-reserve FAQ. I'm eying an auction with a reserve. Said reserve hasn't been met, but I messaged the seller to inquire where it may sit at. He responded with a concrete figure. I'm willing to bid that amount and then some, though it's been sitting below the reserve all week. Here's my question: if I snipe the item at the last second, and my max bid is over the reserve, but ends up being $1.00 over the second-top bidder [who's well under the reserve], do I win the auction? Or does its end-price mean that it gets re-listed again? If it happens, I feel like the seller should be a champ and sell it off at the reserve price he quoted me on, in the message. Knowing my luck it'll just explode at the last minute and I'll back out, either way. But it's still something I've always wondered.
  8. A: go for it, I guess. I mean... why not, right? You know better than anyone else that I'm probably not going to pout over missing out on this one. I asked why he'd enter a raffle for an item he wouldn't want, based off prior, personal conversation. He answered my question with a question. I addressed that question with my thoughts. While I do cherish and appreciate your profound insight and McDonald analogy, I feel obligated to refer you to your own text. Which I've politely bolded for your own convenience. Thanks.
  9. I know a guy who allegedly collected an entire set of BTBAM's Colors - all variants, both presses - and is in the process of doing it again. Two copies of every variant. Both presses. "Just because." That .GIF does a pretty adequate job capturing my feels on that concept.
  10. Can't believe it hasn't been requested by anyone, but my single RSD request is the new Junip Self-Titled, on blue wax. 300 copies in the UK, 700 in the US. If anyone can snag one, I'd be all kinds of grateful, and can pay immediately.
  11. Just seems silly. I could potentially give the record away as well, or "give" it to a "friend" on eBay... but regardless of being free, I guess I just don't see the point in entering a drawing for a record I have no desire to own, personally. "What have you got to lose?" - nothing, obviously. I'd just like to give a better chance to someone who'd actually be stoked to own the LP, I guess. And is there any way to tell if they won't just turn around and sell it, themselves? Of course not. But I guess that's just a risk I'm willing to take.
  12. Nice. Is that the most entries for anything you've raffled off, yet?
  13. This is correct. And also bogus. It occurred with the last Hot Cash promotion, and pissed off a lot of people. Others laughed about the poor marketing decision. I fall under the latter.
  14. This is hands-down the neediest user for a sarcasm detector that I have ever seen.
  15. But why are two of the same exact test press necessary? If you're concerned about maintaining your color consistency, I'd even be willing to trade my black /200 AFS press for one of your tests. It's a pretty good deal. Just think about it.
  16. Of course. I'm still in love with this album. It's understandably a huge progression from Two Conversations, but I still think you'll really enjoy it. Not to sound too pretentious, but it really is an album for anyone who enjoys good, quality music. Can't wait for mine to show up in the mail.
  17. Definitely not a band I would have predicted new material from. I really hope it happens this year.
