  1. This thread has changed everything I know and feel about records.
  2. Brief / personal recap. $1,300 is a ridiculous reserve. Reserve, as in, the bare minimum he'll take? To each his own, I guess. The Siren Song of the Counter Culture that netted $300 was insane. I'm assuming it was a BIN? I remember being iffy about the idea of spending $50+ on that record, way back when. Unless it gets repressed... I doubt I'll ever own it. But I can't say I'm losing sleep over it. Dude who scored the Full Collapse test press for $26 is my hero.
  3. As in, only Maple is selling clear copies? I snatched one from SRC. All three are up there, actually. Forgive me if I'm missing something.
  4. It's not? Maybe I've just been under a rock, but non-mint copies of this record (with dinged up jackets) have always fetched significantly less than $190, from what I recall. I'd say ohnotherobot made out well. It's not anything that deserves to go in the EBAY CRAZINESS thread or anything, but it's still more than I would have expected to get, were I selling it. Also crossing my fingers for a repress, too.
  5. Whoa. I am impressed thus far. Can't wait to see where it'll end, in 57 minutes or so. Congrats.
  6. Probably the best dollar-to-enjoyment ratio you'll ever find. Minus fluke deals on hookers.
  7. That. I'm a little envious of folks who can buy everything in sight, pre-order all variants, or splurge on rare eBay auctions. It must be awesome. But... I make a terrible hourly wage [though the work is easy] and have a nice student debt I'm chipping away at... so I'm grateful for every record I do get to buy. I'm averaging four or five a month. It works for me, but I'd someday like to be able to grab more. I think it'd be amazing to come home to 10 - 20 records on your doorstep.
  8. I was about to reply that $20 is fair... if you're talking about the most recent repress, which features the actual album art. (The earlier presses with this cover have always been pretty pricey.) But in an attempt to dig up some links and auctions for you, I discovered that even the repress is becoming increasingly difficult to find. You can probably luck out on eBay if you've got the patience, but I'm not entirely sure you'll be able to pull it off before Christmas. I'll keep you posted if I stumble across anything.
  9. I've been looking forward to that Bring Me Your Love for a long while now. So stoked to see it being finalized and actually happening.
  10. There's the problem. BN doesn't do shit. Or rather, they do... eventually. If they feel like it. But probably not. *edit* Also agree with 'vultures. I'm a fan of Brand New's discography, but I'd gladly sell a copy of YFW if it brought me closer to a respectable setup, where I could truly enjoy everything else they've released.
  11. To my knowledge, Dejas are still selling cheaper than YFW. At least on eBay. If you're truly OCD about the audio quality, I'd probably hold off. Not only will you have your mint Deja Entendu, but if the YFW repress happens relatively soon - and should it fall in the hands of a quality label, such as Academy Fight Song - there's a good chance the record may be remastered and-or pressed on 180 gram wax. Just food for thought.
  12. Do you own a copy of YFW? If not, I'd probably go through with the trade... were I in your shoes.
  13. Sealed Dejas are not cool. Bro. Looking at eBay values, the mint YFW is probably worth more. If you're just looking to flip and make a quick buck, go for it. Bear in mind that there's been rumor of a YFW repress before the year is over. (Which is looking less and less likely as the days go by, but I digress.) I wouldn't be surprised if it happened much sooner than later, though, and left Deja as the holy grail of BN records.
  14. Just jesting you, bro. I'd only assume you still own it... seems like too significant of a piece to ever part with.
  15. then you can check pm's too : Strangely enough, I have pretty poor reception where I work as well... but I can always check my e-mail without too much hassle. Sometimes I fail to even load the home page in my phone's browser, though. It's odd.
  16. Valid point. Perhaps I just saw a handful of lucky auctions. How's the black / 400 compare to the rest of the variants, in terms of rarity? I believe I see the clear copies bring in the most cash on eBay... though I could be mistaken.
  17. Yikes. I don't want to sound like a prick, but I've seen much rarer variants (and even sealed copies) go for significantly less than $150. Did the market for this record simply explode over the last few months? Best of luck selling it, though... I'd be interested to hear what you get for it.
