Two Gwar beers A huge-ass Walt Disney biography.  I'm not much of a non-fiction reader, but there are a few people interesting enough that I would read, and Walt is definitely one of those! Deftones - Rocket Skates 7".  I'm super happy to get this, actually.  I have a mostly complete Deftones collection (well, the major stuff), but I was missing this one because I gave a copy to a friend as a gift.  Thank you for replacing it!  I love large-hole 7"s too /sexual. Prong - Turnover 7".  I've been a casual Prong fan since his involvement with Argyle Park (Juan, check out their album 'Misguided' if you have not before), and the b-side features a kick-ass remix by Pig!! Refused - Servants of Death LP.  I haven't heard this release before and am really looking forward to spinning it.  Refused is a band that I've never really gotten into, but purely just from not taking the time, everything I've heard from them sounds awesome. Three mix CDs.  I've already worked my way through the first, and it's awesome!  Thank you for introducing me to Milk Teeth, I love it!  Really looking forward to working through the rest.

So this happened last weekend. Not sure if we were more jazzed that we stayed in a haunted hotel room or that Alan Rickman decided to make an appearance. Either way, holy fuck.

Lol I'm sorry but I never thought I'd see that quality tattoo argument from him. I remember having to follow the "if you don't have something nice to say..." rule on more than one occasion in this thread. Friday the 13th bangers are a fun tradition I don't see how they're lesser tattoos.

Finally got a Touche Amore tattoo, figured the time was right, as they have helped me though a lot, and now with Stage Four, they've helped me even more.

I might be taking a trip to Portland and Seattle to see Radiohead in April.

Moshed last night and everything hurts. Some dude was randomly punching people for no reason, hit me, and I completely annihilated him. So that was funny. Twice my size and went down so hard he just left the venue when he got up 

hiiii sorry i'm a jerk! sorry this is so late! i've had a lot going on the past few weeks and didn't have a chance to sit down and get this all written up. even now i'm super exhausted and up way later than i should be. hopefully my ramblings below are semi-sensical. anyhow! here we go!

ok so Menzingers is a band that i somehow slept on/never really listened to until recently. my friends are all huge fans and were going ape shit over seeing them play at Fest (especially the OTIP set). having never really listened to them and having bands i really love playing at the same time, i wound up skipping most of their sets at Fest. started listening to them a bit afterwards though and wound up going with all my friends to see them play a small club show in brooklyn thanksgiving weekend (which i would much prefer to seeing them at a huge outdoor stage anyhow). for some bands seeing them live is what really sells me on them and def was the case with them. was such a great show. Menzingers has been my go-to Pandora station the past couple months but hadnt pulled the trigger on buying any vinyl yet so super stoked on these! spun them all while cooking dinner last night and fully jammed out. 
 

seriously. such an awesome show. 
 
i actually just bought tix today to go see them again in march when they play here. will be a much bigger venue but a ton of friends are going and some even traveling from other states for it so super pumped! def going to be spinning my new Menzos records a whole bunch between now and then
 
sooooo...i actually did already have Daisy  but no worries. i will make sure i find a happy home and i appreciate the thought that went into it (even if i strongly disagree with it being their “best” album haha  )
 
i LOVE captain. i first discovered them a couple years ago when they opened for Hostage Calm's farewell show here (RIP ). great band. great album. had no idea about the Menzingers connection though so that was a fun fact to learn! i'm always fascinated by the interconnectedness of bands and side projects and back stories so was surprised i never knew it was Greg's brother. pretty neat!
 
there wasn't really much to go off of clue-wise. but the note did make a point of mentioning that Captain is a Scranton-based band and i remember @curator and @shadowkid33 talking about going to the Menzingers show in Scranton...but since @curator also got Rented World for SS (fist bump) and said he didnt own it...i'm going with Connor! thanks so much dude! really appreciate all the thought you put into this. def lmk if you're ever out this way! i owe you a hug and/or a beer  
 
oh. and random side note.  i love Broadway Calls and was stoked to see them play at High Dive during Fest. one of my favorite Fest moments was watching Greg from the Menzingers up front and center rocking out and singing along to all of their songs and having the time of his life. was straight up the most heartwarmingly adorable thing ever.

London is badass. Today the lady and I are going grocery shopping, then seeing Star Wars, then getting some ramen. So fucking stoked to be here!

Afternoon Miss lady ma'am. Just came home from errands with Beck's Sea Change & Husker Du's New Day Rising... not a bad day so far  

Life is goooooood. My work finally agreed to give me health insurance, so soon after February 1st I say goodbye to my gallbladder and can get this cold under control! wooo!

i know we already chatted right after you opened everything but so stoked you liked it all! i was so excited to get you this year and had such a blast shopping and making things and putting this all together for you  and was sooooooo cute watching your kitten go crazy with the taco toy over video chat! 
sorry i missed putting one of your fave songs on that hockey comp but it actually was kind of a conscious choice to skip that one and nothing to do with it being a flyers song haha. i just felt the orange and the black leaned too much towards being a theme song and didnt really fit the vibe i was going for. the songs are pretty spread out and include a ton of general songs about hockey as well as ones that mention a variety of teams/players (and one of those rangers songs is actually a song about hating the rangers haha) so def wasnt trying to lean towards any sort of personal preference in terms of team  
anyhow. so glad you loved everything and so happy i could make your first secret santa/hidden hannukah harry experience a good one
