Going to see The Damned in May. Been fan since '87 but only now finally seeing them. Coincidently, it's their 40th anny and this show happens to be the final show of the US tour.
 
Going solo so I'll take myself out to dinner first.

Just got two tickets to see Jimmy Eat World and Beach Slang in Bloomington, IN, in May. Can't believe they're coming here. The place may be 1,000 cap, so it's gonna be crazy. I'm also seeing Matt Pryor and Dan Andriano next month at a venue that's maybe 400 cap at the very most. Bloomington is killing it this year. 

Yeah!  I'm pretty stoked, been in a bit of a mail drought   Seems like a good portion of my pre-orders were for the end of Feb and a lot of good deals popped up on my discogs want list.  Real happy to finally hear that new Basinski, been antsy on that one.

I've never even thought to glance at the whiskey at Woodman's as I'm usually overwhelmed at the sheer quantity of alcohol in the place. Gonna be on the lookout next time!

Saw MWY a bunch back when Rez was probably like 5 years old. Also saw Circa on their On Letting Go release tour. Christ I'm old.
 
I wore skate shoes exclusively for like 20 years. Been wearing boots the last few years and that shit is life changing. My work Doc Martins are the fucking best. I usually wear flat shoes when I go to shows though because I don't want to be the asshole moshing/diving in heavy ass boots.

Gonna try to talk my brother-in-law to send me some Ichiro stuff while he's in Japan. Maybe see if he can find a Hibiki 12 or 17 year too for reasonable prices

Nice! My local added some more Japanese whiskey recently after I asked.

I've always worn vans, and hope to never change it. Sometimes I will put inserts in them, and it helps. I just hate the look of every shoe that have support.
 
 

I'm on my feet usually 8 hours a day without a break, and I'm ordering a new pair of Vans anyway. Skate life > work life.

Credit to jonrawks, who posted this on the cassette forum.  Fans of post-BM style music (DFHVN, Alcest, WITTR, etc.) but are put off by the screeching demonic vocals, AND....has quite a bit of quiet piano interludes between the blast beats, should find this instrumental solo project from Azerbaijan worth a shot

I have a job interview for a studio coordinator position at School of Rock next week. I'm pretty fucking stoked on it. Between the insanely nerdy email I sent the manager/owner, my obsession for music, my work experience, my years of touring, and the fact that a family friend (who works in radio) knows the owner, referred me, and talked me up, my chances are pretty damn good. The gig is my kind of hours, only 25 minutes away, and most importantly revolves around music. For anyone who isn't familiar with School of Rock, it's a music school just like how they do at the end of the movie, but bigger - so it's a music school. Fingers crossed for this, cause it's a job I can do well, somewhere I'd actually want to work, there's room for growth, and most importantly I can talk about music all day long!

luckily they hired 30 of us so I'm in a pack of being the new person.  we are doing classroom training for about 4 weeks and then we split into our teams we got placed on.  I don't think i'm allowed to go into detail but me and two others got placed on the Cortana team and that section seems freakin awesome!  
 
I'm glad to hear  you had a good first week! Have you done any tourist stuff?  I went to the pike place area and had really good homemade apple cider but I'm sure there is a lot more to be seen.
 
It sounds like you got a great view from your office! Are you working in Seattle or outside of it? My team is in Bellevue so I'll be working from there soon instead of Redmond. 
 
we don't get free food but drinks are free. Been drinking lots of weird stuff like coconut water and orange juice in a tiny can and these weird flavored waters. 
 
Have you been using public transport?  I kept getting lost on it.

I have my interview for TSA Precheck tomorrow and then going to a show in the evening.  Plan on spending Sunday and Monday at home.  Pretty stoked about having a 3 day weekend, even though I'm not doing much with it.
