  1. I highly recommend the reprints, the bsides for the first three albums are all great to have. The same site I linked to with puzzle had them available if you're struggling to find them.
  2. Congrats on the win. Good luck on the hunt for Lonely Revolutions it's selling for about £250+ these days. The original presses of the first three are also about £100 each. I missed Lonely Revolutions on vinyl cos it dropped when I was out of the country. Managed to get the CD and even that sells for £80-£100 these days. My own hunt continues.
  3. No idea. Can't seem to find info about it on any record stores or on the bands own website. I know those who ordered the deluxe should be getting sent downloads on release day. The thing that strikes me as odd is if you pre-order the album on vinyl direct from the bands website they automatically send you three songs digitally, guess people who pick up copies tomorrow may have answers for you though....
  4. I can only speak to the RSD 2015 edition and I don't think it had a download card. I'll check my copy tonight and if it has one I can PM you it.
  5. Not on amazon.co.uk yet but I noticed Norman records have it. Don't know if it is identical to the RSD print my friend ordered one so might be able to check dead wax etc. after it arrives. Not sure if it's made its way onto any US/international sites yet. https://www.normanrecords.com/records/152731-biffy-clyro-puzzle-
  6. I would like Kozelek to go back to writing actual songs he sings on not spoken word recounting the minutiae of his day. I love Jesu and still find this album dire.
  7. Musically I would say this is noisier than their more recent work, as for the lyrics I've never had a personal problem with them on any of the records but the albums on youtube in full so you can judge for yourself: I also grabbed the RSD version with the extra LP of demos. Love this album.
  8. Got my dispatch notification on my Wolves Of Winter 7" so that should land tomorrow even if the box doesn't. Probably go pick up the CD version along with some records tomorrow so I can have it on release day. I share your bemusement. After the probable 2 year tour cycle is concluded they need to really think hard about making a more substantial change because if things stay on their current trajectory the old school will stop caring(those who haven't already).
  9. These reviews worry me as the few I've read all state there's little to no big change in style from its predecessor.
  10. I don't think there's any Panopticon releases I don't like. Looking forward to hearing how the re-master goes and getting my first bit of Panopticon wax.
  11. Apologies for posting yet again in here but I was just scouring Amazon for Panopticon releases and saw that there's a re-master of Social Disservices & On The Subject Of Mortality coming out at the end of this month on CD entitled Revisions Of The Past. There is also plans for the set to be put out on vinyl in the Autumn. Hadn't seen anyone talking about it here yet. Pre-orders for the cd are already up. US: http://eihwazrecordings.com/distro/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=1677 EU: http://www.nordvis.com Details about the re-master : "REVISIONS OF THE PAST comes in a massive 8 panel digipack, containing the reworked albums ”On The Subject Of Mortality” and ”Social Disservices”, fantastic cover artwork by Nate Burns, a 16 page booklet including original text explanations, current liner notes and other important reflections of these two albums. A few words from Austin of Panopticon about these re-issues: The album ” On the subject of mortality” has been painstakingly completely reworked , re-amped, cleaned up and remixed by Spenser Morris as well as re mastered by Colin Marston to sound the way the album was originally intended. For many who have heard this album before, it will be like hearing the album the for the first time. The album suffered from terrible production due to the head space I was in when I recorded it, the equipment ( or lack of ) and COMPLETE lack of recording knowledge I had during its recording. To me, this is the album as intended and the definitive version of the record. “Social Disservices” has also been completely reworked by Spenser Morris, painstakingly sample replacing the drums ( using samples from my drum kit), hit for hit and blending them with the original lo-fi drum tracks, so you can finally hear the parts played as they sounded live. When this album was tracked, I still had very little equipment or knowledge of how to convey the music as it sounded in my head…thanks to Spencer’s hard work I can finally hear the album the way it was meant to sound..brutal, suffocating and furious. I am so thankful for the work he put into this. The album was reworked, re-amped and remixed over a period of six months, then remastered by Colin Marston who was also involved in the creative process of the record. I am forever grateful to both of these men for the work they put into this. The original versions of the album will always exist, and they stand as a reminder to me of a time and place in my growth with this project: raw, honest, stumbling through change and growth. I look back on both of those album folly for what they were at the time, but honestly I am relieved to have these ( in my opinion) improved versions of the albums done and I am forever grateful to Spenser, Colin and Nate for the work they put into this. Thank you my friends!" Probably gonna wait to cop that wax myself
  12. Under-rated as hell. Finished it in one sitting. Looking forward to season 3. Don't know whether US just got Spotless which is billed as Netflix/Canal entertainment title. All about a forensic cleaner who gets drawn into a life of crime by his estranged brother covering up murders for a crime syndicate. Really solid watch I'd definitely recommend it. Also a Netflix original that should be getting more attention and plaudits is Lady Dynamite in my opinion. Maria Bamford and Mitch Hurwitz(Arrested Development) providing seriously twisted 4th wall breaking alternative comedy. Netflix have really dropped the ball promoting it but it's absolutely hilarious.
  13. figured it'd be white because of the album art but good to know. After watching the sampler video they put up which had a short clip from each song I'm maybe a smidgen more hopeful for this.
  14. Decided if I don't get mine by Friday lunch time I'm gonna go grab a copy at the HMV on the way home from work.
  15. All my weekend plans got cancelled so over the weekend I watched all of Marco Polo season 2, Spotless season 1 & The Tudors season 1. Just started Tudors second season.
  16. My copy of Palehorse's final album has arrived. It's brilliant but saddening as most last albums are. I got the #/100 180gm *EDIT* Just spun this, sound quality is immense and side B has a lock groove in the dead wax so it plays dissonant noise endlessly after 1893 ends. Beautiful.
  17. A buddy of mine started an independent record label last year called Hail Hail Records. Since the labels inception they've released 8 tapes in small runs of about 20 at a time from small artists from around the globe and the label also plan on breaking into the world of vinyl soon. The labels roster so far contains acts playing dream pop, shoegaze, slowcore, post-rock and straight up indie rock and around Halloween last year they released a compilation that included Airs & Crisis Arm. I figured some of you might like to have a look at some of their artists. I personally would highly recommend Pallow's brilliant debut EP Confined. Have at it, or don't. http://hailhailrecords.com/ https://www.facebook.com/hailhailrecords/
  18. For anyone lucky enough to catch Planning For Burial on his latest US tour I have it on good authority he's likely to be bringing some new very limited cassettes along. He's putting them together with leftover tapes from his destroyed tape series (which was seriously awesome I have #3,#4 & #12) and the content is not confirmed. One will be #/22 the other #/13. Also seems strange rules still has T.Wasluck & Z. Zsigo 2nd edition cassette in their lost and found section (T.Wasluck = Thom Wasluck/Planning For Burial). I have a 1st Edition even Thom doesn't have.
  19. Think I'll wait til I've given my deluxe a spin before deciding whether to open the door to variant collecting. The bits I've heard have kind of left me cold so far, I was really hoping Simon wasn't bullshitting when he said they saw their first six albums as two trilogies and that seven would see the start of a new era with the big high end production of Gggarth Richardson left alone. Sadly the track duration's I've seen for Ellipsis are all around the 3.5 minute mark and the tracks that have been recorded live or put up don't really show much of a shift from the bands last few albums. There will definitely be at least one or two songs that chime with me I'm sure but I'm managing my expectations here. I miss their longer songs, and their more biting edge. It's sad because Simon clearly still has a lot of love for heavy music, he's done guest spots on a few hardcore albums and he still screams live I just wish some of his darker ideas would make it onto a record for once. Also where the fuck is Death Of The Duke!? It's been forever since anything was said about that.
  20. Also HMV are handling an exclusive 7" release of Wolves Of Winter. Sadly it's £7.99 before postage if you pre-order it online. They ship free for orders over a tenner though. Think it's domestic only but its one way those who missed the box can still get a Wolves 7". Can't speak to it being the same as the one in the box but I'd imagine it is. http://store.hmv.com/music/vinyl/wolves-of-winter-(hmv-exclusive) Now it's just whether to shell out for the colour copy and the standard....
  21. Another new track from Caina's new album Christ Clad In White Phospherous is available to stream over at apocalyptic witchcraft's bandcamp here: https://apocalypticwitchcraft.bandcamp.com/album/christ-clad-in-white-phosphorus God's Tongue As An Ashtray. This album VS Wreck & Reference's "Indifferent Rivers Romance End" for AOTY for me at this point.
  22. Another golden thread. Why does everyone always want to flip Beatles records? Are the band no good?
  23. Pre-ordered the HMV exclusive Biffy Clyro - Wolves Of Winter 7" just on the off chance it's different to the one included in my deluxe version of Ellipsis. Was pretty pissed about the price being £7.99 before delivery so bearing in mind that HMV ship free for orders over £10 I decided to try and find some other vinyl to qualify for free shipping when I stumbled across Frank Turner's latest album Positive Songs For Negative People for just £6.99. I can live with an album and an exclusive 7" for £15.
  24. Those Aparatec & Rival Consoles 7"s are great finds. I <3 Ryan Lee West.
