  1. I have way more bands I liked that I now cringe hard about. My dad was always playing classic rock and I still love all that. At my awkward early teens I was into all the nu metal I could get my grubby little hands on as well as going mad for HIM I never really clicked to hard with all the pop punk/ska punk my friends liked and that disposition has definitely lingered on into my late twenties. I would have said I hated Country music if you'd asked me at 13 and I'd probably have called My Bloody Valentine awful noise but these are things I was never really exposed to until my late teens.
  2. The current unpredictable weather (flooding like crazy) where I live pretty much killed my weekend but on the plus I got to listen to a whole heap of records. Most prominently was my revisit to Mount Eerie's Winds Poem. I picked up a second hand copy a couple of years back, the cover is beat to shit but the sound quality on this record floors me every god damn time.
  3. got my signed copy of Mastery by British Theatre (ex-Oceansize) over the weekend. Pretty happy how it turned out.
  4. First taste of the new Caïna has landed and I'm addicted.
  5. holy shit I must've missed that in my frenzy to order hahaha. Thanks for the heads up.
  6. I'm doubtful my deluxe will land on time, haven't even got a shipping confirmation.
  7. Teased earlier in the week but officially on sale tomorrow Arab Strap are playing a few UK dates in October. Hope I can snag a London ticket. Typically all this comes up a day after deciding to go to less gigs for affordability reasons.
  8. Albums that have slayed: Miserable - Uncontrollable Lyenn - Slow Healer (sadly CD only so far) Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool Se Delan - Drifter *Frightened Rabbit - A Painting Of A Panic Attack (*missed this one out and I'm ashamed of that) British Theatre - Mastery (hopefully the vinyl lands this year) Albums that have been OK: Pity Sex - White Hot Moon Thrice - To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere Albums that are yet to come: Biffy Clyro - Ellipsis Martin Grech - Hush Mortal Core (Likely to be put back to 2017 I imagine) USA Nails - LP3 (Not yet titled but these guys work fast) Wreck & Reference - Indifferent Rivers Romance End Oathbreaker - LP3 (hopefully before the end of the year) Palehorse - Looking Wet In Public Albums that have disappointed: Deftones - Gore (HYPE>actual result)
  9. will have to check this after work, those Drake albums are too cheap to pass up. Sadly my work computer's blocking the site.
  10. Thanks for the heads up, I don't know much about Third Man. My thoughts exactly.
  11. Also totally agree that (A) Senile Animal needs a reprint. I was kind of hoping that someone would do a "10 year anniversary" that was fairly no frills this year as it was initially out in 2006. I love the album but am totally unwilling to pay the big bucks that the 4LP set runs to these days, also I feel that i'd prefer the album spread over less discs. I have a few records with etched D sides but I don't really get excited for that.
  12. will have to take a strong look at my finances tonight, not really fussed about colours just need to see whether I can really justify all three or just go for the holy grail that is Houdini. Might try contacting my favourite shop see if they plan on getting these in because I'm sure the shipping will be downright wallet abuse to cover import.
  13. Got my signed copy of Malcolm Middleton's new album Summer Of '13. Been aching for this since seeing most of it played live last week.
  14. Strand Of Oaks - Leave Ruin The only album of Tim's that hasn't seen a vinyl issue, I've talked to him after a couple of his UK shows and he stated he definitely wants to do it but judging by how many sin-bins and sales I've seen HEAL in I think Dead Oceans won't be giving this the all clear any time soon sadly.
  15. Got the smoke variant, which judging by the amount of mix-ups makes me a lucky s.o.b.
  16. Love that the consummate professionals over at Pitchfork announced this as "Skeleton Key". Push The Sky Away was brilliant so I'll probably grab this when it hits stores, no need to really jump all over a pre-order when you know everywhere will have it.
  17. Shellac - 1000 Hurts (in anticipation of tonight's show at Koko)
  18. I got my download done over the weekend and I've gotta say I'm enjoying this album. Sucks that people have been getting the wrong variants I'm hoping mine is with me by the end of the week. Don't really mind if I get the smoke that I ordered or the black though.
