Yeah, that would honestly be my suggestion and, more importantly, represents his natural progression as well. That said, don't completely skip over the Blue Note and Impulse! years. Though somewhat overlooked, there's some real gold there. Especially, but not limited to, Live at the Golden Circle 1 & 2 and Crisis.

You bet! It's a different animal from a different era than what we have been bandying about, but it is a great record. Bit of a change for OC, yet an organic one.

Hmm. I didn't realize The Last of Us and Phantasm got repressed. I believe some of those mentioned were retail and/or warehouse leftovers (like Oblivion and The Raid) being put up for sale at the store and some are full on represses (JP and SotD). Aside from one off, short run variants (like Alien and Gravity) I actually think most of the represses are for two reasons; sales demand (like JP and SotD) and licensing. If something sells like hotcakes and Mondo has an option to press more records, they'd probably go for it. Ghibli is notoriously hard/expensive/picky about foreign licensing and Mondo made it pretty clear at the time that they were releasing these comps because that's what was made available to them. I'd be pretty surprised if there was ever an option for a repress involved there.

Can you elaborate, Slinch? I remember some represses, but I always associated them with demand/licensing ability. Except for The Omen which was, I think, messed up somehow.
