Not to pile on, but.........
"Enjoy The Ride Records in conjunction with PopMotion Pictures proudly present The Last Blockbuster Motion Picture Soundtrack. The Last Blockbuster is a documentary film about Blockbuster's last store, located in Bend, Oregon, and the rise and fall of the iconic video chain store. Available on vinyl and cassette tape for the first time, The Last Blockbuster Motion Picture Soundtrack features music from Punchline and Wordburglar, as well as covers of "Kiss Me" and "All Star," plus score music by Dave Trichter and Steve Soboslai of Punchline."
Man..... Why?
I dunno about the soundtrack but man I remember that documentary being pretty bad.

Missed the /136 but grabbed the half and half. I like that one more anyway. The new song is awesome.

Think Amazon will have it for lower?
God I hope so.

I’m pretty annoyed that it’s in one of those non-gatefold wide spine sleeves. I seriously hate those things so much. Oh well, I’m happy to finally be able to own this album.

$46 shipped to the US from here vs. $57 from the Cure site. Wish I would have done that instead.

I have been disappointed with or didn’t like a bit of the new albums I have heard this year, granted there’s hasn’t been many since I don’t have the energy to pay attention to most new releases these days. Didn’t really enjoy Joyce Manor, Cave In (don’t hate me), and Duster. Built to Spill sounds like it’s going to be another slightly enjoyable but phoned in album from Doug.
I really enjoyed:
MJ Lenderman - Boat Songs
Gospel - The Loser/MVDM
Wilco - Cruel Country
Black Country, New Road - Ants From Up There
Cloakroom - Dissolution Wave
Giraffes? Giraffes! - Death Breath (surprisingly probably my AOTY so far? I have never liked anything else they have done that much)
I can already tell that Birds in Row is going to be incredible and will most likely be at the top of my list. Hoping new Loma Prieta and Bluetile Lounge come out this year.

I grabbed this so fast when I saw it this morning. Been waiting for this for what feels like an eternity. It weirdly kept going in and out of stock there and the Cure’s website and was kind of a pain in the ass to get. I’ll probably cancel my order if Amazon ever stocks it. I know Rough Trade has some too.

New single sounds like they’re trying to tap into the success of Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories about 9 years too late.
I was thinking the same thing. That sound was annoying as hell then and is still annoying as hell now.

There’s a VMP variant too. The two new songs are pretty decent. Not sure which variant I am going to grab yet.

I need to check Stray out. I only started hearing about it a week or so before release and now everyone it talking about it.
I’ve mostly been playing Switch lately. Knocked out Portal 1 & 2, Triangle Strategy, Cuphead + DLC, and Pocky and Rocky Reshrined over the past 2ish months. I bought Hyper Light Drifter on a whim the other night being skeptical if I would like it or not and am completely blown away right now. One of the greatest games I have ever played.
Also just bought Bayonetta 1 & 2 the other day for some dumbass reason and have Xenoblade 3 right around the corner. I’m really hoping Xenoblade 3 is better than 2 since 2 was a giant pile of shit imo. This fall is gonna be bonkers with the Persona 5, Nier, Mario + Rabbids 2, Harvestella, Bayonetta 3, Pokemons (iffy on those), and Return to Monkey Island (been waiting for this one for pretty much my entire life so far) all hitting Switch. Not to mention all of the indies that I haven’t heard of yet but will inevitably find out about.

Wish we could include ya’ Negron.
Will do. Do we want to give it a few days or… get the ball rolling since they’re small press sizes? The savings are like $1 off for each extra person at this point. No real point in waiting weeks, especially with the limited interest here.
Lemme’ know the exact variant you guys want so I can mock up the cart.
Whatever works for me. I’m gonna do the pink one.

Lemme’ fiddle around with quantities / cart options later today and see if it even makes sense or offers a savings. I’m sure that if there’s even a savings to be had, interest would be minor and it’d be a small buy that I wouldn’t mind facilitating.
Perfect. Just let me know! No big deal if it doesn’t happen.

I wasn’t really blown away by their last album but the newest singles here are actually really tight. Any interest in splitting shipping costs or looking at a mini group buy?
I wasn’t too fond of their last album either. I listened to Nympheas a few times on the way to work and absolutely love it. I’d be down to split shipping costs or do a group buy, but don’t want to be the person to handle it. I’m too scatter brained to take control of that.

New Birds in Row “Gris Klein” available for PO on several variants from Red Creek Recordings and their bandcamp:
https://birdsinrow.bandcamp.com
Band said on Instagram that there won’t be any US distro until September. Too expensive
to import so I’ll just hang tight.
This has been my most anticipated album since they announced they were in the studio a while back. Really tempted to grab that pink one but $50 shipped is a bit too much. Knowing myself, I’ll probably cave.

I guess I would feel miffed if I paid $50 for a Thursday night show, and they added a Friday night or Saturday night right after. Because those are way more convenient to swing for obvious reasons.
Well, I will say this one has definitely annoyed me in the past.

Was in a work meeting and missed out on night 2 of Portland but can hopefully grab them during promoter presale tomorrow. Sounds a hell of a lot better than driving all the way up to Seattle.

So wild Unwound sold out the Wiltern in half an hour. 2022 on some crazy shit.
Hoping they don’t add more shows before the 14th. Hate that. Looks like they definitely knew it was coming and made room on the calendar.
“Second date added due to popular demand” as if people can just book the same venue the next night within 24 hours of tickets selling out. I guess I don’t know how tour booking works but it’s hard for me to believe it isn’t planned well in advance. I figured Unwound just wanted breaks in between but you are most likely correct about new shows being added.

Self Portrait was one of my favorite albums last decade and I’m excited to see what they have up their sleeve when they finally release a new full length. They are playing not too far from me tomorrow night and I unfortunately can’t make it.
I can totally acknowledge that the new Cave In is incredible and get why people lost their shit over it, but I just realized that band gets way too close to butt rock territory for my liking. Nothing personal, but yeah…not my thing. The instrumentals are pretty sick though. And I agree that the new Duster is better than S/T. That one did nothing for me and I have only listened to it a couple times since it released. I’ll have to reevaluate Together when I am more in the mood.
