Got mine today (EU). 10/10 for how they shipped this, I ordered both standard and collectors editions and both come sandwiched in cardboard with plastic corner ding protectors. And as if that wasn't enough, it's inside a cruciform mailer that's then wrapped in bubble wrap. Anyway, the record packaging is again just the loveliest thing. I don't want to spoil it but there's loads of lovely touches. I find the third sleeve with the paper stuff in it a bit meh, maybe it could've just been a big 12x12 booklet instead but that's a minor issue on something otherwise so well executed. The records look great, love that the side a/b splatter looks different on each side. On a quick sound comparison, there's not much of a sound quality difference between the single and 2xLP edition apart from more sides flipping per 10 seconds of music. I'm sure someone can tell you how you can hear the crystal clarity of badger breathing on track 6 or some shit, but truth be told it sounds like the bass is deeper which gives everything else room in the mix. The single lp bass is rounded out a little and feels more set with everything else in the mix. Neither are bad pressings, both sound fantastic. I didn't think all those years ago, when I bought Ten Stories on a whim, that mwY would become a band I loved this much to own a whole discography and it's great to have it complete, along with the bank notice to reclaim my home.

PO : Deftones - White Pony x Black Stallion
whoa replied to archiced's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Which store? I think the indie exclusive comes with an art print on black vinyl, no word from retailers of it being a different colour. For what it's worth, there's a Gore repress on white though (remember that hype). -

The Witcher 3 reissue but a Zavvi exclusive. US / UK Norman also have this but not sure which variant this is for the pedant out there. Yes, UK! Which means no horrible import tax and shipping fees. UK/EU folk should also use this opportunity to order the Skyrim boxset and atmospheres if you're into that. I've checked and Norman have Skyrim boxset up for pre-order too claiming it to be a clear variant. EDIT: Skyrim EU link https://highscorerecords.net/collections/nouveautes/products/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-ultimate-edition-vinyl-box-set

Holy shit I had no idea a new album was coming out but just found it on Spotify now and, my god, it's great. I love the shoegaze-like vocal mix! But there's such an atmosphere on this album. Definitely going to buy and see if they can ship the two records I've purchased together (I think they haven't got the vinyl yet).

Didn't quite think this needed a new thread but INSIDES is being reissued. This is such a fantastic album, it's a departure from the deep, entrancing rhythms of the recent two LPs, but you'll find Jon's organic approach is more intricate and concise here. https://www.roughtrade.com/gb/jon-hopkins/insides/lp-plus-x2-2 Also Opalescent https://www.roughtrade.com/gb/jon-hopkins/opalescent/lp-plus-x2

One for here: https://blackcountrynewroad.bandcamp.com/album/for-the-first-time First heard this loud bunch a while back, they were apart of a 7" series where they record direct to tape, release on 7" only. It was solid, I didn't mind the intense spoken word passages and it just vibed with the gloomy post-rock behind it. Kind of thought that'd be the last I'd hear from them, BUT yay there's an LP out. Can't wait to lockdown with this. Sort of Enablers sound if you're into that (not so much cinematic cheese) -
PO [Sold out]: Cloudkicker - Solitude (and box set)

Think it was a flip of a coin, mine arrived intact but with a £25 import fee. It sucks that a lot of people's boxset arrived scuffed and bent but the quality of the pressing should make up for that. I was gifted the 10” of LYBH and the quality difference between the two pressings made the boxset so worth it. Probably doesn't help that I played the shit out of that poor 10” but really happy with the quality of the set. -

i8b and spaceab9 are the two labels that get me disappointed. It's their slowness/lack of wanting to push releases to a distrbutor despite having renown franchises. So yeah, chilling on this one, hoping Black Screen or Chip Freq pick it up. Thankfully the standard edition is an open variant so there'll be an abundance as to not miss out on it. Just saw it's on sale on steam so that went straight into my basket; I will actually play some of these games I keep buying the soundtracks for someday!

I haven't played Disco Elysium, but it perked my interest when British Sea Power made the OST and it really is fantastic. Iam8bit are doing their usual experiments in cover designs which bumps the special edition up to $130! https://www.iam8bit.com/collections/disco-elysium/products/disco-elysium-vinyl-soundtrack-limited-edition-origami-jacket Fuck that! Standard edition is $60. https://www.iam8bit.com/collections/disco-elysium/products/disco-elysium-3xlp-vinyl-soundtrack

Not sure if this has been posted already, but I really enjoyed A Burial At Sea's debut LP. A little ASIWYFA vibe in places I guess, maybe a little Tortorro, I dunno. They go from having some fun riffs to opening up into some bigger moments. Sadly missed out on the /100 var. This is a pretty neat label too, some good stuff to check out here. https://momentofcollapserecords.bandcamp.com/album/a-burial-at-sea -
Yeah I'm in for this, they can do no wrong. Close To The Glass is up there as one of the most inventive albums.

BITCH FALCON https://bitchfalcon.bandcamp.com/album/staring-at-clocks Yes that's a band name. And it's a bloody neato album for a trio with such a huge sound. I sometimes got a bit of Marriages vibes from the singer, but less gloom more bloom in its more upbeat, yet somber approach.
