  1. Just received mine from real gone. Both have tiny bubbles throughout. Not immensely but enough to be concerned. Gonna clean them up and give them a listen tonight. My concern is that they're on the surface and can damage my stylus. I oughtta bring out my old AT-LP120 for this kinda shit...

Did any of you notice bubbles your vinyl?

Both sound great. Unfortunately my copy of Candyass has a speck or something that got pressed into it and there's a nice 10 seconds of popping in the middle of Blue Monday of all fucking places 😫

They did a good job though. Someone do Punk Statik Paranoia now.

Bummer. Did you get yours from Amazon? Looks like it sold out. Won't be able to get a replacement. Mine is coming from Real Gone. Hopefully there's nothing wrong with mine but there's stil some available from Real Gone. You can return it to Amazon (if you did) and order from Real Gone...

  3. So if you like your old school thrash progressive and a bit technical...

Believer's first three albums are getting a reissue treatment. These became pretty rare and pricey over the years since their initial release.

Believer is an American technical thrash metal band from the late 1980s and early 1990s, that plays a hybrid of thrash and progressive metal. Believer is known for its innovative use of symphonic elements in thrash metal, featuring some of the earliest examples of symphonic metal. Their lyrics deal with topics of philosophy, theology and social issues. - Wikipedia

I can't believe I missed this!!!!! I knew that they were reissueing their catalog but it was gonna be a CD reissue campaign thru some Chinese label. I guess they found something better... Hopefully these get a wider release. Absolutely love these guys. Can't wait to hear the new shit tho!

Holy shit that went fast. The ultra limited clear with actual flies went up later than the other options. Fuck! Definitely would’ve snagged that. Oh well, feel lucky to get the tri color version at this point ha.

    I kinda want the plushies

That was pure luck! Just by chance I decided to look at my phone lol! Was picking up wife this morning and saw your post. Don't think I would've gone for that fly tho.

Plushies?  Tempting but $70 stuffed animals...

I just came across Japanese trumpet player, Takuya Kuroda. Great funky jazz. They just re-released this record, and it is expensive. I feel it is worth it considering it's a double and the cost of an original is high. First record I've bought in months.

Nice. Lately I've been dipping my toes into japanese jazz. There's this trombinist named hiro suzuki from the early 70s who realy got me into it. Extremely underrated at the time. Check out "Cat" from 75 I believe. I get a Herbie Hancock/Chick Corea vibe from it. Really good

This is the last track from that album

  7. So I found a hole in the wall Thrift shop. Literally hidden in the corner of a small shopping center. There i found in the corner, about 50 jazz records up against the wall. Most were from the 50s some 60s and 70s. Couldn't buy them all.  But came out with about five Brubeck and some Michel Legrand, Cal Tjader and Kai with JJ Johnson. Was a lot more but couldn't take them all.

Also this popped up in my email:

Really excited about this. But it's already sold out on Amazon. Hopefully my local will be able to preorder this for me.

  8. These preorder prices are off the chain. Not worried about FOMO anymore. Preorders reaching $50 and above is a price gouge. I understand the labels gotta do what they gotta do. But this inflation is choking the life out of the collector(me). I guess what I'm saying is that I spent a little too much last year. Maybe not as much a 2022 or 21. That's when I spent an ungodly💪 amount that i can't say.

There's been in uptick of classic Thrash that I can't stop buying. I've also been adding to my jazz collection as well thanks to the blue notes. But I guess other than that my spending is a little healthier now than before.

I might be lying to myself.

Just got back from a 10 jazz record haul this afternoon...

  9. I've found hundreds of 60s and 70s classical albums at my local thrifts that are in perfect condition to explore. I'm also grateful that I'm able to have such a selection to explore and enjoy. Take that for what you will. It is up to you. Classical record are extremely hard to sell. You can also try Facebook and see if someone is interested in a bulk buy. But you'll not get what you want. Personally, I'd do like others have said and perhaps invest in a good turntable setup(if you don't already have one) and explore what your mum enjoyed. 😉
