Hate to continue to throw this thread off-topic, but it really bothers me knowing that people think this is what straight edge is or why people do it. Can't guarantee my opinion is unbiased, because I am straight edge, but what you said is borderline insulting. The lifestyle decision I made was for me and no one else. I didn't do it to make myself look good or shove it in anyone's face. In fact, all of my friends drink and/or do drugs. My BEST FRIEND sells weed. It seriously has nothing to do with anyone else. If you had a bad experience with someone who said they were straight edge, get over it and please stop generalizing people. Also, there is a difference between a straight edge hardcore band and a hardcore band with straight edge members.

New song is great, sounds like Defeater. I wanted that lyric book but the shirt/book/record bundle came out to $50 with shipping. Fuck that, ordered just a single record. Stoked.

Fucked Up's library is so diverse, but I would definitely start with Hidden World. In my opinion that album is their sound at its core. If you don't like that you probably won't like anything else. After that I'd recommend Chemistry of Common Life, Couple Tracks, Zodiac singles (listen to them in order, the way they have progressed is incredible), then David Comes to Life and Glass Boys. I love David Comes to Life, but feel like it's different than everything else they've done and wouldn't be a good starting point.

Ordered! I've been lucky enough to catch AN three times since they've reunited, including the Boston show. They've never been my favorite hardcore band, but definitely one of the most powerful! Really can't think of many other bands that deserve an entire documentary. Can't wait to watch it.

if I remember correctly the only time there was no re entry was the first year it was at the electric factory. Back when it was at the old starlight ballroom you could come and go as you pleased. Since then, enough people made a stink about it and you can now buy a re entry pass for like $10 a day or something. So now you can go look at the liberty bell and still come back for Power Trip...
