Nobody deserves anything for free, but UMG isn't helping themselves. They were responding to some cancellation requests in the first 1k orders telling people that they would still get the album as an apology. But now they are telling people that there was a misunderstanding and that isn't going to happen.

Looks like they sold over 21k of the $100 version in the 2 days that they were available.

From the looks of the page source they have sold over 11k of the $100 double LPs in just 6 hours. Unbelievable. They also just now removed the part that said the 1st 1k would ship in Sept and now it just says they will all ship in March 2022.

Pretty sure it is the same. Just an extra $60 for a different cover and clear LPs. So the $40 10th anniverary one should also have the original samples that were missing from the other pressings of this.

I was in just due to the artist who did the artwork. That was why i assumed the price was so high.

This whole thing was a trainwreck. They announced this to the music press a few days ago and they all reported it as being limited to 1k which generated a bunch of hype. Daniel Arsham who did the cover confirmed only 1k would be produced. The Weeknd's email blast about it which was sent today also advertised it as limited to 1k. And when it went on onsale a few hours ago it said that "ONLY ONE THOUSAND COPIES WILL BE PRODUCED". Their capitalization, not mine. It said that for around 15 minutes. Then they removed that text and the purchase limit. I bought one right away figuring I could justify the $100 by having a cover done by Arsham that there were only 1k of. But I'll be cancelling this order unless they announce something special for the first 1k. I'll be glad to just have the regular $40 version with the samples finally.

Grabbed both 200 versions. I have the original cd and both cassettes so the collector in me wouldn't let me pass on them. Agree that this should have been a single lp.

I'm still amazed at the prices all of these go for on Ebay. Especially for the ones that aren't actually signed album covers.

For anyone interested in the Wax Trax! repress of Love's Secret Domain there are a bunch of options in the link below. I find it much more official than the recent Russian pressing as WT had the US rights back in the 90s. For the 2 of us on this site who may care, Beggars is finally repressing his solo albums on color vinyl. And there is a boxset of the 5 of them plus a rarities lp which is limited to 500 for $89. Seems to be the same color as the individual lps. But a total of 7 lps for under $100 shipped isn't a bad deal nowadays. Caligula is almost sold out which doesn't surprise me since you can't find any of the variants under $50 lately. For those prices I would have liked to have seen something more limited or maybe a custom cover. This just seems like a repress that they decided to sell at the lowest discogs price. But hey, apparently people don't care. I just hope most of the cut is going to her and not the label.

This surprised me even less than Kozelek. I loved and own POAAF and ACS, and their shows from 95-97 are some of my all time favorites. But thankfully I haven't given him any of my money in a good decade. But now that I've said that watch him finally press that boxset he talked about years ago.

I hear you. I like collecting signed sleeves but not much else. So the lyric print wasn't that appealing. She used to sell signed lyric prints for like $20 and they would sit in her store for ages so I'm not sure what the fuss is about now. I totally would have got the Bring You My Love if I knew it was going to be a sleeve and not an "art card" as advertised. I did get a signed Dry Demo so I can't complain.

Apparently their UK webshop had this available to order again briefly yesterday.

They really need to stop overselling their own exclusives. They oversold their Sault release earlier this year and didn't even bother to tell me until months after it got released. It should be pretty easy to know how's many orders they have for an item compared to the pressing size. It's not like they are getting screwed by the distributor since it is exclusive to their stores.
