Hah, pre-nupping records is a good idea. Before my partner and I started dating I told her that there was no way we would ever mix records (the girl I was dating previous cried when I told her that - DUMPED!). Now, I'm jealous of her collection - she's got the first two Black Rebel Motorcycle Club LPs and Electric Wizard - Dopethrone. My gf rules!

Got two Butthole Surfer LPs today at a garage sale for $2. Not too shabby...

I've got the player but not the set-up. Hence JUST getting a phono amp today and not having proper speakers and wire.

So, my gf and I are about to go for a walk and I am complaining about how I can't find any cool old stereo amps - the kind they used to make in the '70s when that shit was made for listening to records. About two blocks away I find this beauty, sitting on the curb, free for the taking. It works, at least in some capacity. I don't have proper speakers or speaker wire (yeah, yeah, I suck - but in my defense I will be getting a proper set-up in July/August) to test it. But out of curiosity I plugged my computer speakers into the headphone jack and definitely got some sound - not good sound, it was definitely full of crackles and only coming out of one speaker. I'm hoping that once I can get this properly set up all will be good. Definitely a rad find. ps - before you nerds jump all over me, I know you aren't supposed to have all this shit stacked on top of each other. pps - haven't taken my Rega P1 out of the box yet, but soon!

Tempted to check out some local stores in Montreal to see if any of those are around...

A friend of mine, who works at Neptoon Records in Vancouver, BC, bought the last coloured copy out of the 10 that her store got. So she was feeling pretty awesome about that until she opened it - scuffs all over both records straight out of the shrinkwrap. Needless to say, she was quite unhappy. My black copy, however, has nary a scratch. Buyer beware I guess...

that's a really good idea I might just get them to mail it somewhere where I can meet up with it later. I've never really dealt with anyone at Deathwish, but I imagine they are excellent.

Actually, the majority of my collection is in Saskatchewan - I currently live in Montreal. I am buying a van, roadtripping for the summer to Sask, and then making the drive back to Montreal with roughly 500-600 albums. I pray that I don't breakdown/get in an accident. In the spirit of keeping this Converge related... The store down the street sold their OG copy of Jane Doe for $150, black vinyl. I wonder if that kid knew about the repress...

Is there a way to forward it for you? Yeeeeah. I could get mail forwarding - which I will likely do if I don't get the rest of my packages before I leave. But I also planned on living in a van and roadtripping across America for 2 months this summer and won't have an address of my own. I could always get it sent to a friends but they don't know the value of records and will probably use it as a coaster or some dumb shit. Ha. And, like everyone else here, I am impatient when it comes to this release.

I hope these ship soon. I'm moving in three weeks. What I meant to say is I won't be living at the address the pre-order is shipping to. The clock ticks...
