  1. For Emma was pretty crappy. Self titled I didn't have an issue with. I've listened several times. It's one I even prefer in headphones.
  2. Haha apparently no one cares. It's pretty!! Given, many albums use CD quality for vinyl pressings and it's generally fine, like El Cielo. But it's not worth $25 for me in this case.
  3. Listening to the copy that arrived from Amazon in headphones now. Certainly not a poor pressing, and I'm a very critical listener. It shouldn't cost more than $20, but it's not something to avoid if you enjoy the album.
  4. Thanks! a 7" was the original plan. Just can't do it at this point. I do have a high res master just in case.
  5. Shouldn't be long before we see a release date for this, finally, along with an expanded digital release. In the meantime, Kaddisfly guitarist Aaron Tollefson and I are in a band called Madam Officer and we just released our new 2 track single. Produced by Chris Ruff (Kaddisfly vocalist), Mixed & Mastered by Kris Crummett (Kaddisfly, Dance Gavin Dance, Further Seems Forever, The Early November, etc.) http://madamofficer.com - also available in iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, all that stuff. Check it out along with our debut EP released earlier this year! I'll have a new Kaddisfly studio video ready for release soon as well ...
  6. Anyone else see that Songs For a Blue Guitar has been reissued by Island? 2xLP, 'Mastered By Capitol' in the deadwax. Sounds pretty decent. Certainly loads better than the Plain pressing.
  7. Thanks! Their music is serious and amazing and stuff, but I can't help but show how goofy they all are. Especially when we're all together. The next one should be up in about a week!
  8. I've been working on some 'making of' videos, the first of which is now on their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Kaddisfly/videos/10153634492520039/ Watch that shit in HD.
  9. The band is doing this exactly the way they wanted to do it. And the promotion isn't over. The point was to first release it directly to the people who had been waiting for it, before trying to get it to those who don't yet know they want it
  10. Absolutely! Always a good name to see. And it at least began with the analog tape, so a pretty good scenario all around. Now, if they would just press the records somewhere besides United! Definitely more surface noise than I'd like, as per usual with their pressings.
  11. Definitely sounds good! I've listened to this album so many times in my life, and really pleased with how this sounds. My copy turned up in less than stellar shape, but SRC has issued a full replacement, so kudos to them in this case.
  12. Kris is a friend, just talked to him. I wonder where this info came from, because that's not true. He's just doing some mastering on the demos and b-sides, leveling them out essentially. No mixing.
  13. Ha, nice one. Not completely. It'll take some work, but everyone in camp Kaddisfly would like to see it happen. Focus is on Horses right now though.
  14. I'm sure results will vary. I do suggest a couple passes with a proper record cleaning brush to wipe away whatever pressing residue you can. It does look a bit better after that, surface wise. What's real disappointing is that since the band put this out, they chose United. If I had paid $50 for this, I'd be super pissed.
  15. It's all about getting rights from Hopeless. And they're no fun.
  16. So, I had a chance to listen to a test press of this last week. When I saw it was pressed by United, my heart sank. Sure enough, got my copy to today, and it reeks of United. Marks all over, non fill in several spots, and record 2 is significantly warped. There's always something wrong with their shit, yet somehow their share of the market continues to grow. Drives me nuts. I had an exchange with someone from SRC about this recently, as they plate their stuff at RTI, which is awesome, but then send it to United, which is stupid. They proclaimed that United 'has some amazingly flat and incredible sounding records'. Well, I'd love to have those. However, it is 180 gram, when I thought those were only for pledge orders. Long story short, I still hate United and I wish they weren't used so often.
  17. if you want to hear a song ... maybe you can hear one somewhere in the new episode of this podcast ... soundcloud ... iTunes ...
  18. I don't know why it hasn't been revealed yet, but the winner actually got the test pressing for free, which is pretty cool. The label has approved the test.
  19. They'll give you a discount when you order the vinyl if you purchase the digital version.
