  1. Something about this sounds quite different on vinyl, it's much more underwhelming. The digital version, I felt the guitars were quite loud and panned hard so they really popped out, especially whoever is in the right channel. This sounds more more veiled. I really have no complaints about the music, and I enjoy the album. But, I think I'll sell my vinyl copy. It's Half Purple/Half Purple splatter if anyone is interested.
  2. I liked OMNI. I didn't mind Infinity. But, two and a half songs into this one, I cancelled my vinyl pre-order and ordered the cassette for $13 less. That feels more appropriate.
  3. While the FBR description says the album is remixed and remastered, this Alternative Press article says the title track is re-recorded, Aqua Sun is remixed - http://www.altpress.com/news/entry/basement_sign_to_fueled_by_ramen_announce_deluxe_release_of_promise_everyth makes more sense.
  4. Completely remixing an album that came out a year ago seems pretty unnecessary. This song sounds like a different recording almost entirely rather than a remix, the vocal track is definitely different. Some odd eq and dynamic choices, like that super loud open high hat and pulling the guitar in the bridge way back. The original bass tone was way cooler. If this album wasn't all that well received why not announce this label change with a new EP or something?
  5. the aforementioned posts on discogs included mention of cleaning to no avail. It doesn't sound like noise that can be cleaned away.
  6. Anyone else have issues with significant noise on the red pressing?
  7. Long shot I suppose, but I lost the mp3s of Information Retrieved pt A & B. I have the 7"s, but I'd like to have the digital tracks. I believe what I had were vinyl rips. Anyone have these? Thanks
  8. It should really be called The Cavalera Years since the two albums after these were also Roadrunner.
  9. @TGSNick the reissue of 'Fahrenheit' is really great. Any plans for 'A Map of What is Effortless' through Ghostly?
  10. Pre-ordered Sea Change from Amazon just the other day, received it today. I owned the MoFi pressing and it was truly fantastic. Warm, very dynamic, everything you could hope for. It became so valuable I couldn't not sell it, knowing that eventually there would be another pressing. This is good. Pressed at Pallas USA, cut at Golden. Not as all encompassing as the MoFi, but good, especially for $22-25. I'm assuming one of the high res digital masters was used. This record is excellently produced and mixed, and there really isn't a bad version of it out there. Great soundstage is intact on this pressing, and I didn't have to touch my EQ knobs. Some reports of non-fill issues, not a good thing for an album with such quiet passages. I did hear some on Side C, especially during Round the Bend which got more annoying the more I heard it. The plain paper sleeves are pretty crappy, the gatefold jacket is standard fare. But again, a very acceptable edition and I'm glad it's finally available again. And it also comes with a download code with the option of 24/96 WAV files. Very nice, even though they are even louder than the original CD version for some reason.
  11. Never mind. Ended up finding one this evening. Turns out, download is 24-bit WAV.
  12. If anyone gets Rogue Wave 'Cover Me' and wouldn't mind sharing a download code if there is one, that would be awesome. Not sure I'll be able to get it, but I'd love to hear it.
  13. The one and only time I saw this in a store was years ago, and it was only $14, and I have no fucking idea why I didn't buy it. Now I'm paying nearly $30, but I'm pretty stoked on finally having it.
  14. Came across the /500 brown and decided to go for it. Better than expected, thankfully. Even though everything is very much pushed forward, there seems to be more space to identify things than I would have figured. Drums aren't completely dulled. Regardless, album is heavy as shit and they are awesome as ever.
  15. Anyone get this on vinyl and can comment on sound quality? Obviously it's a fucking loud record, just not sure it's worth paying for the vinyl pressing vs CD.
  16. I'm not quite sure why people are concerned about shipping prices and not the cost of the record itself. Vinyl records are not more expensive to produce than they were a few years ago. $28 should not be acceptable.
  17. I did a search, so pardon me if this has already been explained .... last night I found myself in a mall and thought I would go into hot topic just to see what was available, only to find that they had no records because a couple of weeks ago they had ALL been marked down to $5 and sold out ... she said it was all stores ... WHAT?! How did I miss that??
  18. I dig the album, but still haven't seen it on vinyl for less than $30, and that's just out of the question. Disappointing, but I'll just get the cd.
