  1. But as a downside, recovering from surgery and trying to haul records around is far from recommended.
  2. I saw somebody at the piercing place the other day with like.. at least 2" holes. All I thought was "wow.. he's definitely going to need surgery when he's done with this phase."
  3. I would love tattoos but I've always pussies out for various reasons. If I went my brother's route in life, a blue-collar laborer, I'd have tats like crazy, but for a while I planned on going into corporate America and now I'm heading towards teaching, where they don't seem to go crazy over ink. I know I could get them in covered places, but I haven't made a move yet. I took a girl I know to get pierced last week and we were in this insanely nice place in downtown Buffalo and it got my juices rolling. I have a ton of ideas for tattoos that would or could make up a sleeve, but I'll never do it.
  4. For local ratings... The Buffalo and Pittsburgh markets led the ratings, at 38.2/58 and 17.7/30, respectively. -si.com And keep in mind that most of us Buffalonians get the option of watching CBC, the Canadian channel that broadcasted as well, so for NBC to pull that is insane.
  5. Oh man, I spent a ton on vinyl today. Part of it was tracking down a copy of Relationship of Command.
  6. To be honest, that's really what I was hoping the answer would be. I just didn't know if people stayed on top of things that much.
  7. I was going to point the gypped thing out, but then I didn't. I thought that was a really neat tidbit of info when I first learned it.
  8. How do you guys stay on top of new vinyl releases? Is there a site that keeps track of what's coming out, or do you just hunt through bands' websites or distros? I keep finding out about things after the fact and many are then out of print and harder to find.
  9. Not a good album? 2. I am citizen 3. Walking is still honest 5. All or nothing Are 3 of their best songs ever! I would LOVE this album so I could listen to it, I don't care about reselling it someday.
  10. Goddammit.. I want this so bad, but not $202.50 bad (which it's at as I type). It makes me sad.
  11. I just searched my mom's collection.. in it I find the Beatles White Album. Open it up and pull out a record... it's the original Apple release. Look to the other half of the gatefold... NO FUCKING RECORD! I only have side 3 and 4.
  12. What's a good one? Ad-aware seems to delete, but not fully delete it (according to my brother) so we want to try another one. I'm not sure what the spyware file is, specifically, as I haven't run the scan myself yet. But anyway.. what do you guys recommend? Spybot S&D, etc..
  13. + I've been louging around watching Simpsons DVDs all day. + I raided my mother's vinyl stash + I ordered some stuff from VC, and ebay - I can't stop ordering stuff and am going broke - I still have an incredibly awkward bulge from my surgery 2.5 weeks ago - It hurts - I'm too lazy to get dressed up for New Year's Eve +++++ 2007 is over. Finally.. I had 20 great years of life, then hit this year and managed to get arrested for felony charges (way out of character), spent tons of money on lawyer fees and gas to get there because conveniently got arrested in Boston (from Buffalo/Syracuse) and had to go 4 times to court, got rejected from Teach for America, changed my life goals completely and now have to take a year off of school once I graduate, struggled in school for the first time ever, had a shit-ton of work, worked a job in Albany NY this summer (NYS DOH) that I hated, and was driven into a depression by just about all of that. I don't deal well with stress, and well, this year was far too much of it. Oh, and the surgery was a pain in the ass to deal with / setup.
  14. We should just make a point to buy a bunch and help each other out. No gauging on the prices, but make sure we get one for as many as we can. Charge the price + shipping and distribute among the board. yay or nay? (I realize this is looking way too far in the future)
  15. Whoa... AAA free taxi-rides tonight? I might have to go abuse that.
  16. I guess going to a "formal party" that will just be a disaster. I kinda just want to go to bed and forget about it.. I normally don't care about New Year's.
  17. Because of this thread, I just raided my mother's collection for some Stones, Beatles, Sabbath, Pink Floyd, etc.
  18. What'd you pick up? Well, I had my shopping cart up to about $100 and decided that was overkill until I actually pay for my tuition.I whittled it down to the Modest Mouse 7" ( A Life of Arctic Sounds ), The Bled - The Silent Treatment on blue, a box of 12" bags, and the book Virgil posted the other day, "Turning Failure Into Ideology" a novel by BRIAN POLK. I left out Comeback Kid and a bunch of Blood Brothers. I decided I only really like Burn, Piano Island, Burn enough to buy but that's obviously the hard one to find. And then I realized I missed the army green Comeback Kid so I threw a hissy fit and didn't buy the white.
  19. Blah. This post sent me rummaging through the catalog again and I just dropped another $40 on this addiction.
  20. I don't like coffee at all, and the other day I was in Boston at a Brew Pub (actually, I was in Cambridge) and they had a "cappuccino stout" or something that actually has Starbuck's Expresso brewed right into it.. I was hesitant to even taste it once I smelled it, and I regret that I did finally sip it. It was beyond terrible.
  21. I'm not so sure. RIAA lawyers have stated that they believe ripping CD's is making illegal copies, and therefore illegal. No, the brief said that it was specifically that the copies were placed in a shared folder, not just that the copies were made. It was the two conditions that were the basis of the case.
  22. Either this case is a month or so old, or something really, really similar just happened, and the article announcing it spun everything out of proportion. There was an enormous thread on Absolute Punk about it. It was mainly the little kids going "fuck that, that's stupid of the RIAA!" and not reading anything else, but someone posted a link to the actual case report and it wasn't that the CDs were ripped, it was that they were ripped and placed in a shared folder which was then accessible by other people to DL from. So I imagine this case is the same. It's not the act of ripping.. it's where the files end up once they're ripped.
  23. Popaganda was so bad that it made me stop listening to the first CD. And I'm serious.
  24. Ok.. I thought I was a good AM! fan... but what is this s/t 7" ?
