Had bought an OG Buddyhead copy when it first came out in 2002 and sold it for about what it goes for now, probably 15 years ago.

I’ve needed to replace it ever since, but fuckin $29? Eyyyyyyy.

That’s where I’m at now. I get vinyl delays, I get inflation, but are these labels/distros cashing in because they can or is this the real cost of a finished product?

Definitely back to only grabbing stuff I really love.

He was talking about me. It used to be easy to rack up a high post count by chatting with friends on here in the small talk thread or actually talking about music with people who cared about listening to their records more than just collecting the latest small-run variants.

Kinda reminds me of the karma thing on the really old VC boards. I ran a script on my account and put it up to like 20K or something, lol

I got mine on Monday so yeah, these have definitly been on hand.. probably put up the pre-order when they got shipping notice from the plant.

With how accurate those mockups were, I wonder if they already had them in hand honestly. Also got mine on Monday.
I think the only complaint I have is the numbered sticker on the shrink wrap. Would be nice if it was at least a poly bag.

2002, was that when they played the house show in hilltop Tacoma, or the one they played the house show on 50th in Wallingford that the cops came to? Or possibly neither.

Dang, never thought I'd see hilltop mentioned on VC! Bummed I wasn't as into music during that period, would love to have been to either show. I was living in the U District in 02 for school, but Tacoma has more or less been home minus two years in seattle. Anyways, I can only imagine seeing them back then, wow!

i've already tried both groups and no one is willing to part with the lp unfortunately. back in the 2000's the fat releases would be up for weeks before they'd sell out so i'd buy one or two per week along with other releases to get color variants.

I definitely ordered back in those days, even in the “true” mail order days of sending money orders. Wish I had the foresight to grab 10-20 copies of records back then, lol

    Good luck on the hunt!
