Haha. I was just coming to post that for you Failure guys. On Topic: I just pre-ordered from SRC only to find out that its cheaper at amazon. And I'm now suddenly recalling the "Suck My Money" thread....

never thought i'd hear someone say that. the vinyl is about 36 minutes total because it's lacking the secret track. also, i agree with the volume, but i still think the quality beats the hell out of the cd, and i've been listening to the cd for over 10 years now. this is my first time to hear this album on vinyl and i could tell a difference right away. also, i don't believe the album was recorded on tape, so you're getting a digitally recorded and digitally mastered album pressed to analog, it's not going to have the sound a proper analog recorded album should have. I see what you're saying about the digital recording/mastering but I've got plenty of other records that I know were recorded digitally and they still sound way better than this thing. I noticed that the guitar sounds really weak on the first few tracks much more so than the CD. I don't know. I'll give it a few more spins and see what I think then.

^ Haha! Yeah, I got that too! Mine was cheaper when I ordered so I got less money back but still. Good deal. Concerning the actual album: Anybody feel that the overall fidelity on this thing is pretty lacking? I mean, I know the CD had a pretty lame mastering since it was probably recorded on a pretty low budget but this LP just doesn't sound that great. Side A, that is. I dropped the needle on a couple points on Side B as I had limited time to check it out and the stuff on Side B sounded a bit better. Its very inconsistent. Plus, I have to turn my volume knob way up to get the same amount of loudness from most other records. What's the total running time for this album anyway?

Just listened to this all the way through last night and it sounds gorgeous. Never heard the first press but I wish all albums were mastered to sound this good.

^ Yeah, man. I don't think anyone knows at this point whether this was old stock found or a secret repress. At the very end of 2008 there was a thread here about how glacialpace.com had a bunch of Good News's available that a bunch people snagged. I was too late though.... and was so angry. At that time, I think that was old stock but now, it really seems like its most likely a repress which is a good sign because if last years Moon repress is any indication, that means we could be seeing LCW within a year! The very first order I placed with them was in 2008 when I was searching for TMV Frances LPs and found it there. It was how I discovered the store existed. With in 24 hours of ordering it they sent me the Dear John letter about no longer having them in stock. Never ordered from them again til now. Not because I was pissed but because anything they had that I wanted I found a little cheaper somewhere else.

I would have done this but I just wasn't confident that I'd get a good enough return on the pass.

LOL They were selling before, during and after the show here in Chicago. They had a few boxes of the LP and unfortunately, I got the one at the bottom of the box he was currently pulling from so there is some damage from being the bottom (speaking of homo).
