  1. I'm hoping that will happen. I figured there's no way they don't see how easily they could sell another 500-1,000 copies and press them while doing this.
  2. Yeah. I want to buy a well-curated collection for not retail
  3. Ha, didn't see this thread for until now. I love MXPX. At 16, at a church youth thing-y, I bought Teenage Politics. It was my first experience with anything punk. They were like Fisher Price: my first punk band. They lead me to discover other punk and hardcore bands, the legitimately great bands that impacted most of us here probably. But then, the ethos of punk helped shape my life. To like what I like, to not worry about what other people think is good for me, etc. MXPX were my outlet for that. I've bought pretty much everything they've ever put out. No other band has been with me as long as them. So, I'm so happy they did this. Mike has never stopped touring the band name, even thought Yuri and Tom needed to get full time jobs. But they've been doing weekend tours for a couple years and doing well. I'm glad there's still a demand for their music. That said, I was going to pledge for a black copy of the new album, but shipping was $10. So $35 for a new record didn't feel like the most important thing. Perhaps I'll end up trading someone for a copy in the future. Happy for them.
  4. Did you leave a collection here by chance you need to sell off? In the mood to buy a collection
  5. Bought this to resell, but god, it's so hypnotic: https://www.discogs.com/Barbara-Mills-Lets-Make-A-Memory-Try/release/4676421
  6. I'm assuming it's a test ABC did when they reissued it later. Originally came out on Impulse. Just giving you a hard time. Here's the blues/soul thread:
  7. There's so much great music that already exists it's so hard to have an interest in newer stuff like this. It's probably why I don't listen to a ton of modern music anymore. You can pick up a comp and hear Zambian afrobeat that sounds like nothing else and it is the freshest sound you've never known you needed.
  8. Peeing outside is a different experience than inside. He's on to something.
  9. Argh. Stupid work getting in the way of records. I was reminded these went up for preorder about three hours too late for the splatter. Will have to grab another color.
  10. This is something I would pick up in a used bin for cheap, nothing I absolutely need. My high school years were spent staring out of windows listening to Shimmer on repeat on my Discman.
  11. Bruh, that's a lot for some warped records with seam splits.
  12. Not much, but I donated $10 again this year. Your daughters are so precious.
  13. Ugh. Never could stand Pop Shop. I've traded with Dana at Capital City. He's a nice guy.
  14. Ha. I've lived here since most of 2005 and never been to the cook book store. I never even thought about mentioning the label.
  15. If you're ever in New Orleans, the first shop you should visit is called Domino Sound Record Shack in the Marigny neighborhood. It's small but has a shit ton of music which includes a great many local/regional 45's by a plethora of artists. It seems most of my 45 buying comes directly from them. Here is a R&B tune by a great NO artists called Snooks Eaglin. He was blind and still could play guitar like a madman. This tune has a killer guitar break that really reinforces that if Snooks had made more R&B tunes rather than standard blues I think he would be a bigger deal to people outside of the city. https://www.discogs.com/Ford-Eaglin-Yours-Truly-Nobody-Knows/release/9339846
  16. Not helpful to the technical questions, but I have completely switch from watching porn on my desktop to watching it on my phone. The portability is so convenient.
  17. Ah. I think your situation is slightly different than OP's. But you're right, it's one's preference to which way they're built. For me, having a child, I can't handle the stress. I like getting paid if I'm on vacation or sick. But I see the appeal in the freedom in working for yourself.
  18. That's good. I'm just offering my thoughts. I've been through this and it didn't work for me on a small scale.
  19. ^^^ Where I was sitting at Wrestlemania, it was directly behind where you see them do the introductions in that row of alternative languages commentators (Japanese, Italian, Hindi, etc) after an hour into the show. We were above a tunnel that WWE crew and talent would come out of to go to the stadium floor. All the NXT guys walked by (Velveteen Dream, Adam Cole, EC3, etc) and people would shout at them. Ember Moon walked by and she was gorgeous in real life. I just stared, lol. Didn't want to be a dick and catcall but I couldn't think of anything interesting to say/yell.
  20. Why not just buy and collect records and get a job that will always yield you a pay check? I've sold records on the side for 10 years and while it's a nice help to my income, it just turns into more fucking work. I like records less because I'm bombarded with the need to sell all this shit I've bought. Literally have an extra bedroom with 1,500-2,000 records that I plan on selling but lack the motivation to do anything about. And this year makes twenty years since I bought my first record. All this to say, I'd prefer to make a steady paycheck and just randomly sell when I feel like it (which I do, at record shows 3-4 times a year). I hate needing to rely on 'record money' and needing to hustle when I don't make enough. It's stressing, trust me. Anything, even the cool hobbies, turns in to an annoying job eventually.
