Those of you who are Pumpkins and wrestling fans in the Chicagoland area should come out to our Resistance Pro show tonight. Billy is always there and often times you can get him to sign some stuff for you.

I'll likely cave in and order Abigail as I love that album and I also love colored vinyl.

I don't have a tattoo but I still need that damn Zombies LP. I can't believe no stores have a copy left.

This whole thing is just a ploy to get people to think Hydrahead's prices are good. Also, fuck $70. Looks like I won't be buying any more Mastodon records. Come to think of it I didn't buy the last one despite liking it because it wasn't worth the asking price to me. Crack the Skye was my favorite album of theirs actually and the single LP version was less than 20 bucks. They should go back to that business model.

After over a week in "order received" limbo at Bullmoose for The Zombies - Odyssey and Oracle LP I got pimped and they cancelled my order If anyone has one they don't want or knows where any are for sale by non-shitbag gougers PLEASE let me know!

RSD - Sunny Day Real Estate / Circa Survive Split 7"
mxv replied to dreamover's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Am I the only one that was underwhelmed by the SDRE track? It didn't do much for me at all really but I should listen to it a few more times to see if it grows on me. I'm going to take a belt sander to the Circa Survive side as that was just horrible. I do like that it came with a download card. I wish there was a law that required every record come with one. When I'm home I only play vinyl but it's nice to be able to also have the music on my iPod for driving in the car, etc. -

Can any one of you EU folks hook me up with the Husker Du LP on Lilac color vinyl if you are able to still get one? I'll pay for the LP, shipping, and throw in a few extra dollars for the trouble.

I'm looking for the Zombies - Odyssey and Oracle LP if anyone has one they don't want or if anyone knows where to find a leftover online. Edit: Found one at Bull Moose and after a painfully slow loading process on each and every page, I was able to order one.

Anyone in the UK willing to get me the Sex Pistols box set? I'll gladly reimburse you the price, the shipping and a little something for your troubles.

I don't know what the fuck a "finna" is but I'd like to punch anyone who says it in the throat repeatedly until I beat the stupid out of them. That's all I have for now but I'll chime back in if any others come to mind. Thanks for being a good listener. -

While his besmirching of the English language soured me to the point I likely won't buy this out of principle (the only thing he could have said that would be more stupid than trying to use the term "a minute" as something to describe a long amount of time would be if he also said "if you have any questions, "inbox me""), I will give him props for not doing a pre-order and waiting until he actually has his product available before taking people's money. That act almost cancels out the bad one and in the end I bet I do end up buying one, especially if the price is right. So the moral of the story kids is that "inbox" is not a verb, it is a noun and that "a minute" is 60 seconds in length which is not a long time. Neither one of these things should ever be used, let alone when you are trying to promote your products. This concludes this morning's grumpy old man rant. -
Both of those were right before they remastered them so they were using the original mastering.

Be patient, the label guy himself said he has only been working on this project for "a minute". It takes a lot of minutes to have a record made. Had he spent more than one minute on this project it would likely be done by now. Damn procrastinators! -

Mine came yesterday and I popped it open as soon as I got home. It sounds noticeably different than the previous old master (especially when you compare it to the original CD which was what i was most used to listening to it on for the past 20+ years). The drums sound better, there's more mid range and the highs and vocals aren't so hot. I really liked it but it will take multiple listens to get used to it. My gut instinct though is that this is WAY better sounding than the original edition. The booklet is really nice full of great old photos. I like the way the entire thing was packaged. I haven't played the extras record yet or watched the movie but I can't wait until I have the time to do that, hopefully later this week. The thing was pricey but holding the finished product in my hand and listening to it completely justified the price to me as it is one of my favorite records of all time.- 97 replies
