  1. Reading this thread made me realize that the first time I saw the Descendends was 31 years ago. Jesus Christ I'm old! Even though I didn't care much for Cool To Be You, I loved all the other albums immensely and will of course be buying this new album the minute it goes on sale.
  2. In a moment of weakness I ordered the green even though I have all 3 USA colors on Southern Lord already. I do love this album.
  3. I'm allergic to cats, now what the hell am I gonna do?!
  4. Dr. Strange definitely worth it Freakbeat Records Permanent Records Atomic Records and of course Amoeba!
  5. Is that Black Sabbath record still available in their store? If so I'll try that 6 dollar gimmick just to get that.
  6. I got this version and played it last week and it sounded fine to me.
  7. Now they are pink? Dammit, now I have to buy another one to maintain completion.
  8. My clear one came on Saturday. Last night I went to bed early and the last thing I did was play the new album. I woke up this morning and saw the news that he died. That was a little eerie and was the worst way to start the work week. I've always liked Bowie since I was a little kid. When I was in grade school in the 70's (yes, I'm a dinosaur) I used to play my dad's "Changesonebowie" album all the time.
  9. You Jawbreaker fans will take interest in this one that's coming out Friday, it's Adam's new band: http://www.punkvinyl.com/2015/11/24/frontier-to-release-new-7-from-jawbreakergreen-day-members-for-rsd-black-friday/
  10. I got my silver vinyl versions of both about a week ago. I played both and despite cleaning with my VPI they both were somewhat noisy and had some crackling here and there. I also didn't think the sound quality was that great, kind of sounding like it was pressed from a CD. I remember my original black vinyl pressings sounding better but I haven't taken them out to compare back to back yet.
  11. Here's my photos from days two and three: http://www.punkvinyl.com/2015/09/16/riot-fest-2015-day-two/ http://www.punkvinyl.com/2015/09/16/riot-fest-2015-day-three/
  12. Just band photos. I stopped trying to take photos of the rest of the fest during the first outdoor one when I realized I never had the time as I was always travelling from stage to stage to shoot other bands. Fun fact: I am the only photographer who has shot all 11 Chicago Riot Fests.
  13. My photos/review of the first day: http://www.punkvinyl.com/2015/09/15/riot-fest-2015-day-one/
  14. Metro gave me two pairs of tickets to give away for this show on 9/22 with Reverend Horton Heat and The Adicts! http://www.punkvinyl.com/2015/09/12/reverend-horton-heat-922-at-metro-ticket-giveaway/
  15. The Metro gave me two pairs of tickets to give away on my website to see The Fall of Troy on 9/24. It's an all ages show and they are playing Doppelganger in its entirety! Enter here: http://www.punkvinyl.com/2015/09/15/win-tickets-to-see-the-fall-of-troy-924-at-metro-in-chicago/
  16. Hey thanks that was super nice of you! I already found MP3s of this for my iPod so I'm good now.
  17. I picked up my HT one yesterday. It sounds good and looks cool. My only complaint was it didn't come with a download code.
  18. Shrink wrap was used before the 80's. I got plenty of records in the 70's that were shrink wrapped.
  19. I have a 1200 and a 1210. Love them both and both will likely still be working long after I leave this planet.
  20. All the CD versions of the Big Black catalog sound like absolute shit. They have needed remastering for years. It's just a nice bonus that they went ahead and remastered and recut the vinyl too while they were at it and those include digital downloads so it's win/win. I got the Racer X and Bulldozer ones even though I own the original first pressings of both and they sound very good.
