We had some good bands. Fury of Five. Worthless. IDK. Joshua. Supergrub (Ben from Incubus' first band). Bunch of others. All good stuff.
Now, the real question: How did you ever wind up with my Grandma coming to one of your shows on your bucket list? That shit has to have some story behind it.
I'm going to try like hell to make it up. I'd hate to miss the tour. I hope it goes really well for you, the album you put out this year deserves plenty of recognition.

By the way - stoked to see Dave Grohl's documentary "Sound City" as well as what promises to be an extraordinarily important film, "God Loves Uganda".

It's about the actress Mariel Hemingway (granddaughter of Ernest) and her two sisters, Margaux and Muffet. Margaux was the first American Supermodel and a really compelling figure. It's a take on the legacy of Hemingway but I'll save more of the details for when the full description and marketing begins.

It's the holidays - some crazy shit is going to happen first for people looking for gifts and then after Christmas when people are flush with holiday green.

If I had a stick I'd chase some of these kids off my lawn. Ha ha.
By the way - I'm so damn stoked to hear this is in and will be shipping in the next few weeks. It might be sacrilege but this might be my favorite Converge album.

Younger people to be exact. I know I've said it before, and surely those who know me are sick of me saying it, but anyone in the 30+ years of age range who has been into records since late 80's and early 90's are accustomed and OK with delays.
Back in the day sometimes it took months on end to get your record after mailing out payment to the label from the order form in their catalog or zine. Months would pass and you got your record. There was no pre-order nonsense or message boards to bitch and moan on and none of the bullshit we see 24/7 here from some of these people.
What annoys me most is the incessant bitching and moaning even after countless updates from the label(s) about the delays. At least we are being given updates as often as possible instead of complete silence. And how about the people talking shit and calling The Beatles the worst band ever as I've seen on other boards? Really? What does their recorded output and impact in pop music culture have anything to do with recording plant delays? Mofos please!

People take vinyl way too seriously. Collecting shit isn't a rebellion nor is it the start of a revolution. It's consumerism that's comforting. The level of entitlement that I've seen around here since the delays really kicked in make me sick in ways I can't even begin to describe. It's largely why I've shied away from this place. If you are so damn impatient go volunteer somewhere to pass the time and feel good about yourself in the process.

Have any of you tried to watch a kids sitcom lately? Disney or Nickelodeon? I know it wasn't genius tv when I was a kid but it has gotten sooooooooo bad. Have you watched iCarly for 5 minutes? Probably not because it's unwatchable YET it is huge with kids. This new show is not out to satisfy nostalgia-hungry adults, it is being marketed to kids and therefore will be as bad as anything else on Disney. This is going to destroy a lot of childhood memories folks. Tread lightly, lower expectations and pray for a pleasant surprise.
