  1. the bullshit I saw last year.. there was a family that was first in line.. they sat there all night, and because there was like 5 of them, they snatched up multiple copies of all the best stuff... which Im assuming then went to pay off their house hocking Dave Matthews Box Sets to idiots
  2. its probably that dude that no doubt works for amoeba.. he's got listings for like every record available
  3. we're doing it again! 2 day ska fest! tons of reunions! for lineup/info and whatnot ----> www.facebook.com/applestompnyc and if you're going to be in the city the friday before the fest.. hit me up
  4. if anyone can grab me a cake or REM boxset i'll pay/trade for it immediately.. I have no idea how early I can get to my local store with the baby
  5. they can't all be winners... cut me a little slack.. not sleeping much with the new baby
  6. because you can't take pictures of your mp3s and post them on the B9 board along with nude pics of scene girls so everything thinks you've got more cred than them!!!
  7. because you can't roll a joint on a mp3.
  8. a lot of labels used to send white label promos (basically extra test presses... or just a short run in advance of the art/packaging being done to get the singles airplay/reviews.. if the album was a big album from a big artist... its probably not super rare because they had more marketing behind them.. but at the same time bigger fan bases.. so it could be worth a few bucks to the right collector... best bet.. toss 'em up on ebay and see what happens.. thats usually the best bet for stuff like that
  9. I don't have those.. but I have the demo tape for the singers old ska band, skabba the hut
  10. check his other auctions.. dude is selling everything on RSD already
  11. is gonna be tough to find these used at anything less than retail.. my dealer told me everything from pro-ject is extremely constrained at the moment, and he can't even get new product from the factory
  12. definitely using some kind of shelving to keep it off the ground, as well as not having too many boxes stacked on top of each other.. that much weight over time won't do your lps any favors.
  13. ok i shipped off my Mcintosh Mc-30's to be brought back to their original glory! Using this place --> http://vintagevacuumaudio.com/ the guy who runs it used to work for a slew of major labels and worked on records for artists like Otis Redding, and Booker T & the Mgs... theres some examples of his work on the page, and in the stereophile article about him thats linked on the main page. theres a complete description of the process involved, as well as a nice example of the actual amp i'm having done on this page http://vintagevacuumaudio.com/restoration-services/mcintosh-specifications/ needless to say i'm really excited, i just got the MX110 pre-amp in the mail, and its in really nice shape.
  14. unfortunately this isn't included in the subscription (we noted it In the description for the sub because this was in the works for awhile) because due to our contract with RSD we're not allowed to sell any copies outside of the regulated RSD channels.
  15. its an official RSD release, so copies will only be available in RSD approved indie stores
  16. So we are doing our first RSD release, and its a reissue of the debut lp from one of the most innovative/influential bands of the last 3 decades - FISHBONE! featuring the classic singles - Lyn' Ass Bitch, Party at Ground Zero, Modern Industry and as a Bonus Track, from the Say Anything soundtrack "Skankin' to the Beat" limited to 1000 copies, 900 red, and 100 blue... none of the copies will be marked so happy hunting!
  17. ill dig and see if theres any left... i've buried at the moment due to losing one of my storage rooms for the baby, so now theres just ceiling high piles of boxes everywhere!
  18. this album was really great, by far one of my most listened to albums of last year
  19. found a pretty great deal on a mcintosh mx110 preamp/tuner to go with my being restored mc-30's. cannot wait to get this whole thing up and running.
  20. the pre-amp will probably be the next piece i pick up, i'm doing some research on various message boards and whatnot.. theres a couple vintage mcintosh ones that i'd be interested in.. i dont have the list here but i think it was the c22 or c20... but ive also had some highly reccomended marantz models. I'm definitely going with a tube pre-amp.. and i'll probably hold out for something really nice, as this will probably be the last stereo system i buy for a looooong time.
  21. i was able to score another MC30 for $700 that works, but needs a little love.. and i was reccomended to a guy who's gonna charge me about $1400 for a full electical and cosmetic restoration on both.. re chroming the chassis, polishing up everything nice, rewiring etc. so i should have a pretty gorgeous pair for $2100ish... i've seen some working / non cosmetically restored ones go for over $3k a pair.. so im in good shape.. i really wanted a pair of mcintosh amps anyways.. so this was a nice boot in the ass to get moving
