  1. I have at about 25-30 Against Me! records (including test presses) with a pressing # below 25.. and a good number of those are single digit pressings.. including the "red explosion" version of Disco Before the Breakdown that's the only existing copy.. since the other was lost in the mail to Australia. After that I have some one off transition copies of BTMIs album minus band, and the reference lacquers from some of their Asian man releases
  2. or they could have licensed the tracks for use on the GH album. it all has to deal with the individual contract between the band and label in question.
  3. yeah we had been talking to them for a bit.. they played over 200 self booked shows last year which is mindblowingly impressive for any band
  4. new albums from The Snails - soul/ska/reggae from Philly... reccomended if you like the slackers / pietasters type jams. Survay Says - pop punk / ska from NJ ... for fans of acts like We Are the Union, Less than Jake etc and the american release of The Skints - Part & Parcel LP, easily one of the best records to come out in the UK in years.. combining hip hop, ska,. punk, reggae, and dub.. acts as diverse as Nofx, Less than Jake, Benga, and Skream have all publicly praised this band.. check 'em out if you haven't already.. especialy if you like bands like Sonic Boom Six, and the King Blues.
  5. i think at this point my white whales have gone from things i want to own, to things i want to get pressed
  6. Hey guys, a few points of news ! 1) we'll be announcing 3 new signings to the label this week, especially of interest to those of you who love ska/reggae. 2) we'll be getting the test presses in for the first domestic pressing of TMBG's classic Apollo 18 this week.. and it won't be the super flimsy vinyl of the previous european limited release from over 20 years ago. Some of the bands most beloved songs are from this record.. and one of the tracks was even in a recently released car commercial. 3) we'll soon be announcing a special Record Store Day exclusive reissue from one of the best bands of all time! 4) In the process of moving around inventory (aka my newborn stole one of my larger storage areas for his bedroom) we found a handful of previously thought Out of Print records and we'll be adding them to the store as we unearth them! This weekend we tossed up a handful of colored editions of Suicide Machines - Destruction by Definition, Suicide Machines/Rudiments Split 2xlp, Suburban Legends, The Flaming Tsunamis, and more.. who knows what else is laying around! 5) We're hard at work booking our annual multi-day Ska/punk fest in NYC Apple Stomp, and we'll be announcing dates & bands in the coming weeks! So go pick up some records.. i got a baby and 4 stray dogs to feed. <3
  7. a couple extra colored copies added to the webstore... all pre-orders are now in the mail and you should see them shortly if you haven't already www.asbestosrecords.bigcartel.com
  8. finally got my import copy of Rival Dealer last week.. great record
  9. just got a test from laura stevensens' sit /resist
  10. They only sold a few of these a night on each date.. and we lost a couple shows to snow.. so the leftovers are up in the store! features Chris from Less Than Jake, Ryan from Catch 22, and JT from ASOB. www.asbestosrecords.bigcartel.com
  11. Meat Puppets II and Up on the Sun are classic records. If i didnt own original presses of all of these already i'd be all over it., i highly suggest tracking down forbidden places, and too high to die as well.. which round out my top 4 favorite albums for these guys
  12. Lol Skrillex isn't even new.. he fully admits ripping off Aphex Twin records that are 20 years old at this point
  13. sean, i applaud you sir. i am honored to actually know such a man.
  14. putting it out there right now. I will cut a bitch for this.
  15. popsike.com is a decent place to browse through as well. A good deal of people freak out when they find a "big name" album like darkside.. but since vinyl was the medium at the time, and the record sold a bajillion copies.. the majority of them are dollar bin items. But theres always those early presses, weird import versions etc..
  16. really digging this.. aye aye aye was in our 7" club a few years ago
  17. about 50 colored copies left... if you want a colored copy better act fast!
  18. such an odd yet amazing combo right? also only 8 copies on blue left... get at 'em kiddies!
  19. A very unlikely, yet awesome combo of artists on volume 3 of our double exposure series! Hot Water Music frontman Chuck Ragan, and Indie/rapper Astronautalis come through with two amazing Springsteen covers!
