I would like to nominate my bump of this thread for bump of the year. 1 reply in 2007 and now 15 replies not counting this one (or the bump itself) some of which are actually relevant to the original topic.

Looks like we've got a new company jumping in on the "Soundtrack Reissue" wave, Waxwork Records.

Pretty cool looking release of Re-Animator on green (or randomly inserted glow) vinyl with artwork by Gary Pullin (most recently credited with Mondo's White Zombie print among other things) and a poster.

I love the movie. I love the soundtrack. I love the artwork. I love the vinyl color choices. Pre-order was a no-brainer.

I don't have any direct UK/Euro distro, however the record will be available on Interpunk as well as the YCR webstore so if you want to try to order it with a few other things to save on shipping, you could wait until then. If a UK/Euro distro hit me up, though, I'd definitely have no problem sending them some.

jipc reacted to jkelly in The Mondo Records Thread - You think limited? Will sell fast?
I like the DW version more too. I luckily had someone in Canada get one shipped to them for me, and then they'll ship it to me. It's way more expensive, I know, I usually would just settle with the domestic version. But I'm a big DW fan and like what they did with it.

I'll still probably get the Mondo one too. I like the art. Wish it was gatefold too w/more art inside.

What are you basing this on?  The website clearly states "An edition of 700 heavy weight 180g on clear vinyl with RANDOM green, white and blue effects."  I wonder sometimes if people on here can read.

I've been in the same boat in and out for the past six months or so and it usually boils down to this for me:

When's the last time I listened to said record, and how often do I listen to it in general?
How hard is it to come by the record; if I ever feel the need to acquire it again.
How much could I get for the record and is it worth my time and effort to sell it for the amount?

It is tough and there are points where I am stubborn beyond all get out, but when you step back and think about it, they're just things. I see it as an investment really. Selling off pieces of my collection have saved me countless times over the past few months. Just don't think about it too hard and once you see some money coming in, you'll realize that cash in hand is better than some records on a shelf. Hope this helps and good luck to you!

Looks like "The Fog" will be up for pre-order June 14. Some killer artwork and awesome vinyl colors this time around. Spence posted some pics on his instagram. Great packaging for this one, can't wait!

Yeah I'm glad this was their first release. I know "Soundtrack Only" labels are getting to be a flavor of the month, and hope we don't get overdone on them, but as long as they're putting out quality stuff like this I can't complain. Between Death Waltz, Mondo and now this and One Way Static (which will be doing Last House on the Left soon) let alone some others too I'm getting to be both happy and broke.

As much as I like to think this I honestly think this is an act. Remember when "Chris left" and "Glen Lambert" filled in?

As much as I will enjoy this a repress (via whatever label) is needed of Potemkin City Limits. Be nice if a euro label did it seeing how well the Smallman press went.

We released Propagandhi’s classic first album How to Clean Everything back in 1993 and are celebrating the 20th anniversary with a new edition on August 20th! Guitarist Chris Hannah explains his reasoning for it, “Maybe it’s the bath-salts talking, but I have come believe that there is value in having something that haunts you until you are dead. I give you… How To Clean Everything, the 20th anniversary edition.” The reissue includes the full album (duh), the 3 outtakes that Fat Mike cut from the record, and a super rare 4-song HTCE demo. Of course the album was re-mastered from the original analog reels AND, this is the neat part, we are offering an exclusive Tab Book for the entire album! With both guitar and bass transcribed by Chris himself, the book will be available bundled with the reissue. 20 years on and these gents are still hard at work. You can catch them on tour in Europe and once a month you can listen to Chris and Derek Hogue’s (from G7) Escape Velocity Radio, a monthly podcast that dips into such subject matter as science, philosophy, history and origins of consciousness. The podcast has nothing to do with this release of course but it reminds us of the journey these guys have taken and continue to be as relevant today, as they were 20 years ago when they released their breakout record How To Clean Everything.

Since I'm a subber I have both coming. I usually wouldn't buy something like a subscription w/o more info on what's coming (DW changes their release schedule slightly here and there) but everything DW has released I've loved so I don't mind going blind. I also figure I can pass anything I'm not into on at cost, but that hasn't happened yet since, again, I've been super happy with every release.

The completist in me wants to buy the "Let the Right One In" and "Donnie Darko" LP's but I'm not insane about the soundtracks. I like the movies enough, but to drop $30-$40 a record on music I'm only slightly into is a tough call. Still the collector in me is freaking out to do it.

Can't wait for "The Fog" and they've been dropping hints on "Assault on Precint 13" and all Carpenter soundtracks are great.
