thanks for the heads up. stoked to buy this without a membership to VMP, which is a completely stupid program.

What did you get a copy of?  The CT vol 1 seems to be sold out and the 10th anniversary (both editions) are sold out online....which I missed.

they were talking about VMP, which is now allowing orders to non-members.

I listened to the new Ringo some more over weekend on walks/bikes

I change my opinion on my initial

Since the US versions are delayed 2-3 months, I ordered the AC30 version that is shipping now from UK

Plus, I actually like the black vinyl to the sleeve artwork vs the US color choices

if this ever goes up on amazon.co.uk i will order the AC30 version. their price is always terrific. otherwise, i am gonna hold out, cuz its like $40usd from the label.

actually fuck it. just ordered it from norman records in the UK cuz it was less than $30.

Ended up placing an order on hhv - the shipping prices were pretty crazy but they had some solid prices on the stuff I wanted plus a good collection of other non MOV imports I wanted. Shipping was like $25 (which ended up being $20 after a discount code), but I ordered 10 records so $2 a record isn’t too bad. Checked out some of the other recommended sites though and Dodax looks like a great one, can’t believe I’ve never heard of them before - they’ll be on my radar for sure.

which ones did you order? i am interested whether Juno has them, cuz that shipping price sounds like a lot compared to Juno.

Hey y'all, I'm hoping one of you more experienced Frank collectors can help me out with the copy of Blond I just received.

Bought it off of eBay so it's anyone's guess how legit something is, but I didn't really care what pressing it was I just want it to listen. The press I received has one black record (A/B) and one translucent pink record (C/D). I most assuredly know it's not legit (so bootleg) after opening but I am wondering if others have received similar color combos? Or maybe someone can just help me identify if this is some BS half/half mix of pressings.

Note: Seller immediately refunded me the full value without question - they definitely knew it was bogus and just headed off a deeper inquiry.

lilsvinyls on eBay if anyone sees them around - maybe a fluke but I wanted to share.

that is what is known as a bootleg. at that point, who cares what pressing of a bootleg it is. it is sourced from mp3s and not worth a penny.

Ugh that cotton candy variant is beautiful.  And first pass through Cotton Candy Clouds was probably my fav.  But I should be responsible & not buy vinyl rn!

well it doesn't ship til june now, and i doubt it will sell out any time soon. i am sure it will be around when the voice in the back of your head makes you buy it haha.

lmao i'm clearly not asking why Shiner recorded this under their actual name. i'm asking why they recorded this in the first place when they could've told Epley to save it for the next TLAT LP. their *lead single* after 20 years off is a dead ringer for the primary songwriter's other band. sounds to me exactly like a case of, as you so succinctly put it, “Eppley and pals.”

regardless, my question was largely rhetorical. we are on like Season 5 of 90s Band Can Have a Little Reunion as a Treat and it’s good to see Shiner finally getting in on the fun. question remains as to whether they’re throwin leather seats in a Camry and calling it a Lexus, or whether we are going to get something that sounds like classic Shiner. i’m along for the ride either way

i think you are downplaying the roles of the other guys in both bands. but whatever, song is good, and i am glad shiner is back.

i mean given that Epley is the primary songwriter for both bands, that doesn't seem super likely. but i also haven't seen credits for this one to know for sure.

Epley is the only common denominator between the bands and while primary songwriter may be technically correct, the bands are not Allen Eppley and pals. So it isn’t weird that a band made of a majority of guys not in the life and times would put this out as the band they actually are, shiner.
