Love this album, and these guys are my new favorite band. Been listening to their catalog non-stop since the video for “Stuttering Stanley” woke me out of my slumber.

If anybody has a copy of either of their previous records (Far Removed and Satisfaction) and would be willing to part with them for $65 shipped or less, PLEASE shoot me a PM. They seem to never pop up on eBay, and the Discogs prices start at $80. Barf.

    get in line, pal. ;)

Oh fuck off lmao. You think you're taking the stance of "supporting labels and artists" - I guarantee I've given more money to Kranky over the years than many on this board - and would never hesitate to again. The point is as consumers we have a right to know what we are paying for.

hey now, no need to curse. you sure seem kranky.

Lol this logic is so flawed it's ridiculous. Siphoning extra profit from consumers via misquoting shipping is ridiculous. They should just be honest and price the records at $25 which is STILL BETTER than most other places, and then quote accurate shipping and everyone is thrilled.

"siphoning extra profit from consumers via misquoting shipping" is the best thing i have read on this board. y'all bitch about everything. it comes down to $25/$26ppd for a 2xlp. i am sorry you dont agree with how they got there. better boycott them and send them a message. you will not be siphoned!

You know that's not what I'm getting at.  It's more about the transparency.  Just list the record as $25 with free shipping – not unheard of on Bandcamp.  I'm not scoffing at $25 PPD for a double LP in 2020.  But is it absurd to ask for a more accurate price breakdown?  On paper it looks like 4 double LPs for $80 + Media Mail would be feasible.  Which, yeah... that'd be worthy of celebrating some insane kudos to Kranky and their modern pricing.  But as it stands, it's actually more lucrative to buy the "stragglers" piecemeal and lump up the remaining LPs on Discogs where possible, since a lot of sellers stock a variety of his albums and bundle shipping costs.  Would've made more sense to just buy them all direct from Kranky, and would've certainly been less of a headache.  But if splitting up orders is going to save me $15 or more... why not?

because at some point you have to decide whether you want to support the band/label directly or whether you want to get the absolute rock bottom pricing. to you, getting transparency in the pricing model is the most important thing. i guess that is your right. do you, but after all that shit you just typed you still could get a bunch of records you want for $25 per 2xlp, which in 2020 is a great deal. not to mention the money is going directly to the artists you care about.

Kranky tends to be so weird.  Added 4 Loscil albums to a cart on Bandcamp.  You pay shipping per item, so for 4 LPs it's $23 in shipping.  Stateside.  I know they're double LPs and that's a fair bit of heft, but it ain't $23.  Their response was basically "we price our items very competitively and I think you'll find that even with the shipping factored in, you will have a hard time finding 4 double LPs cheaper elsewhere."  Cool.  I mean I'm not arguing that – breaks out to just about $25 PPD per LP which is dandy – but come on.  Where's that extra $17-18 going?

hmm, where could the profit a business makes be going? probably toward buying the CEO of kranky a new Lambo.

$25ppd 2xlps and you are asking a question like this? come on bud. you are better than that.
