I've written Protagonist a bunch of times and they responded with a story about some orders being marked as shipped, but weren't shipped. This happened before with a different order I made with them. After a month of nothing I wrote them and they told me a similar story. So I finally got some records. Not all my records though. I wrote them again to let them know that I did not receive part of my order and have not heard anything from them.

MCM, it did sound like you were venting your frustration and we all need to do that. The school on the block where I live just got closed and no one was happy about it. Though now it looks like it may magically reopen as a charter school, just another step for corporations to take over public education. Don't even get me started on that. Anyway, I am sorry you are surrounded by asshats who think teachers are moochers. You know that's ridiculous, so don't let it tear you down. There have been many times that I have wanted to quit throughout the years, but none of it had to do with the kids. It was all the BS created by adults. I had to remind myself why I got into this profession. Have a cool school year.

Everyone thinks that teaching is a noble profession and that teachers should be paid more money and respect. Blahblahblah. And yet, no one wants to pay higher taxes. People don't want to contribute to building the infrastructure of a well balanced society. Will you pay higher taxes or hold millionaires accountable to pay a fair share? If not, then shut it. People need to put their money where their piehole is. I've been a teacher in a high poverty urban area for 11 years. I didn't get into this to be rich, I got into it because I genuinely care about this population of kids. I can make a positive change in this world every day. THAT is the reward. Unless I win the lotto I will regularly be struggling to make ends meet. Retirement? Probably when I die. And yet, I still love my job(most of the time). I actually feel sorry for those suckers going to their, albeit high paying, jobs every day and hating their life. Of course, I wish I could get paid a more equitable wage, but in the end I am still going to be doing this for many many years to come. I do it because I love it. If you ever expect to get real money, this job is not for you.

Yes, I completely understand that difference. I still stand by what I said about communication though. I run a small business on the side of my full time job and I just try to be on that shit because people appreciate the courtesy of letting them know what's going on with their order. Of course there are some people who can be assholes and unreasonably impatient. It just doesn't seem like the OP was being impatient or unreasonable. I do really hate the whole pre-order(non-kickstarter kickstarter). I can choose not to participate, but I also want the rarest or coolest version and sometimes the whole pre-order sells out and I would have to wait for another pressing before I could get it. It's a sickness.

Assuming that what the OP is saying is true, I don't think it's instant gratification to expect an in stock record after 3 weeks. Just seems like it would be common courtesy to at the very least let the dude know what it is going on. Type an email send a pm, doesn't really take much to treat people who are giving you their money with a little respect(I won't even mention SRC). Labels like Deathwish and No Idea set a basic standard with how great distros/labels operate. Communication makes all the difference.

I bought my test on their site the day they started selling the record. Why the hell would tests need to ship 3 weeks from now? Damn, it better come in some sort of cool silkscreened cover or something. Though I still don't know why it would take 2-3 weeks.

Funny I just wrote them last night when I realized I never got this or my Sirs record. I thought this was supposed to ship in early July?
