  1. I will pay hand$omly to get my hand$ on a copy of thi$ LP, preferably on either clear or blue/orange. Alternately, have a look at the spreadsheet in my signature if you'd prefer to trade. I probably have whatever record/s you're looking for. Hit me up!!
  2. Agreed! I am SO GAY for this album. If it was available as a 10x7" box set with '45 holes, I would fuck that stack'o'wax. Hate on :-*
  3. specifically, the clear copy that ended on Ebay about 5 mins ago. i have a sneaking suspicion it was one of you. ..well played.
  4. Q: do I really need ANOTHER Alcest record? A: maybe, but if so why not just wait for the album!
  5. I will sell my original I Have Dreams 3" cd for a good price. Also, some personal faves from that era: The Assistant - Year of the Dawg CDR Orchid - Dance Tonight, Revolution Tomorrow 10" You And I - The Curtain Falls LP Pg.99 - Document #5 LP The VSS - Nervous Circuits LP Kwizats Haderach - s/t 7" I Hate Myself - 10 Songs LP And going back even earlier: Indian Summer - Angry Son 7" Ordination of Aaron - Immersion In A 90mph World LP Native Nod - Today Puberty, Tomorrow The World CD Moss Icon - Lyburnum Wits End Liberation Fly LP Giants Chair - Purity & Control 7"
  6. waiting for these to show up at Reckless here in Chi. despite living here for basically a decade, I've somehow never seen these dudes play (or Nachtmystium, for that matter). why am I an asshole?
  7. Hold Me Up was released on vinyl. end of thread.
  8. Liz, Lance, Jamie, et al are really nice people. I could care less about 99% of the stuff Permanent has come to specialize in, but if YOU think any of the above releases are up your alley, you could certainly do worse than to support their business. All y'all mailorder kids should browse the site (which, admittedly, has massive scripting bugs in the search feature).
  9. i love how this thread continually highlights users' FUCKING TERRIBLE taste. for ex: Static X???!? Are you fucking serious?! Alright alright - you grew up in a cultural wasteland and diarrhea inducing nu-metal was your gateway drug to awareness of an actual aggressive/whatever music scene - I FORGIVE YOU. but seriously, "let [it] die" and lest anyone try to call me on some glass houses shit, YES my musical taste at puberty WAS unassailable (Matador, Touch&Go, JadeTree, DeSoto). Speaking of DeSoto, I know someone already mentioned Dismemberment Plan, so how about motherfucking BURNING AIRLINES on vinyl already. I wish Dischord or JadeTree would just lay claim to anything "produced by J Robbins".
  10. will give this a listen. 90% chance i'll think it's overhyped crap, but i wouldn't mind being proven wrong. i first saw this band at Sound&Fury a few years back. they lived up to their name by talking TONS of shit on Deathwish, & basically came off as entitled brats in flipped-brim hats. they'd just started their 'collective' and bantered about it like they'd invented the concept of releasing your own records. they were also selling ("hand screened!!") shirts with 'destroy the empire' or some garbage on the back - the 'empire' being Deathwish. lulz. so now they've got a 7" on an imprint of Matador. is this because they've matured as people and songwriters, or because they've alienated the labels in the hardcore community? ^serious question - please enlighten me^
  11. Reckless Records here in Chicago occasionally Double Decker in Allentown PA when I'm visiting friends/family. Ebay for everything else.
  12. reviewing tradelists & PMs. will get back to everyone later tonight. anyone just seeing this thread should get in touch now or look elsewhere.
  13. True Widow - As High As... while i don't like it as much as their s/t LP, the actual SOUND of it is fucking epic. yes it's a recent record, but it's the last time I can recall having to stop what I was doing to just be stunned by sound.
  14. long story short, I wound up with two copies of the '1orange 1blue' variant of the 'We Are The Romans' repress. trade me for it!! the second copy is still in the shrink (in this case "opened only to check color" means exactly what is says - the vinyl never left the sleeves) and ought to be in the hands of someone who will actually want to open it up and PLAY the sucker. i'd rather trade for another record in the $25 range than solicit cash from y'all, so here are some of my wants: ATDI - Alfaro Vive Carajo 7" Feederz - Jesus 7" (reissue) Plugz - Move 7" (boot/reissue) AFI - Sing The Sorrow 2xLP Avett Bros - I & Love & You 2xLP Section25 - From The Hip LP TwinSisterMoon - Then Fell The Ashes LP
  15. so through a surplus of luck, i wound up with two copies (both of the 1blue 1orange variant). i'm opening a trade thread in the Buy/Sell forum to unload the 2nd copy fairly. anyone who missed out should get in touch.
  16. @McPherson - I doubt anyone scored multiples from Reckless. At most they would've received 5 copies, and considering that at least two people in this thread got copies from the Reckless website & I got mine in-store, that only leaves two for someone to throw on ebay. Highly doubtful, anyway.
  17. so after failing at the HydraHead Pre-Order Clusterfuck Extravaganza I put in a few special orders around town in hopes of catching a copy when Redeye sent their hundred into the wild. Wouldn't you know it, I wound up with TWO. Both are the '1 orange, 1 blue' variant. If anyone else missed out, I'd be more than happy to trade for another record in the $25 range. full wantlist is in my sig, but here are some examples: ATDI - Alfaro, Vive Carajo 7" Feederz - Jesus 7" (the reissue) Plugz - Move 7" (bootleg) UOA - Live on WFMU 2x7" Weirdos - Destroy All Music 7" AFI - Sing The Sorrow 2xLP Avett Bros - I & Love & You 2xLP Blood Bros - Young Machetes 2xLP Section25 - From The Hip LP TwinSisterMoon - Then Fell The Ashes LP
  18. 1) aside from the College song, pretty much all the music was written by Johnny Jewel & performed by various bands he produces (Glass Candy, Desire, Chromatics, etc). 2) All that stuff has been released on vinyl by Italians Do It Better, and is mostly available from their e-store 3) Jewel also composed a full instrumental score along the same lines that wound up not being used, and that will be available as a free download at some point, maybe coming out on vinyl later (like 2013, giving how slow he is about releasing stuff). Excellent movie.
  19. hey intern, i will buy your shitty records if you throw in a test press of Grade's 'Headfirst Straight To Hell'. deal??
  20. the sheer fact that EVERY year at least one person is trampled or beaten to death over a 'doorbuster' is reason enough to not think twice about boycotting this shit.
  21. Sweet! Did you end up with the haze, or the orange/blue? Orange/Blue, which is alright by me.
  22. stopped by a shop in Chicago yesterday for a 45 and mentioned how lame it was that shops got the shaft on this. Clerk says "funny you should mention it, we received ONE copy today. here ya go". suck it, internet!!! [if i come across another around town, i'll put it up on here at cost obvs]
