  1. Well if anybody winds up with an extra, I’ll happily take it off your hands at full cost plus re-shipping. I don’t care the least bit about which color/s I can score, but I’d def like to eventually own a copy of the thing..
  2. Aaaaand ‘Faded Now’ is sold out (or at least this pressing is).
  3. If anyone needs the actual OST on vinyl, you’ll have to drop serious $$. Bought mine from Amazon Japan for close to $100 when it came out, now goes for $600ish on Discogs. Hopefully that gets repressed for the rest of y’all. Meanwhile I might pick this one up!
  4. Not yet. Did it come with the OBI that was teased on their bandcamp?
  5. ‘3’ is pretty enjoyable, but I was really bummed about Glass Candy being MIA from the track list. I expect ‘Dear Tommy’ will come out eventually, but I can’t say the same for ‘Body Work’..
  6. I can’t believe I missed this. You log off for ONE day.. *fingers crossed* for the domestic release, I guess.
  7. Insta-buy, thank you CURATOR. One of the all-time catchiest songs, seriously hyped if you fuck with the Replacements, Big Star, power pop anthems in general. $7.50 < $300
  8. Much as the completist in me wants this, I just can’t vibe with the tracklist. I’ll stick with my lathes for now (at least until some kind of box set with every song comes along in the future). I understand they don’t have the ‘Real Folk Blues’ rights, but there are some other huge omissions IMO
  9. This is the one area where vinyl may be a drawback - this album (song?) flows so well that I can’t imagine cutting it up into 4 sections w/o either abrupt cuts or weird fades. that said, it’s SO good, and I’ll likely pick it up regardless just to support Phil’s work.
  10. Got a shipping notification today! These guys rocked and the LP kicks ass. Def check it out if you’re into the ‘Chicago sound’ at all (ie mathy, aggressive post-hardcore with an unusual vocal style). Sorta like later Unwound, but also early U.S. Maple, Forstella Ford, NoMeansNo, or Sweep The Leg Johnny.
  11. Forever waiting for (them to get up the nerve to lose money on) Grade - Headfirst Straight To Hell on something other than picture disc. Not holding my breath..
  12. Would you say it sounds like a continuation of Dear, or is it closer to anything else they’ve done?
  13. I appreciate you pointing that out, and holy crap those splatters look great!
  14. Has anyone had a chance to listen to Love & Evol? I love Boris, but not every release is a ‘must own’ for me, so it’d be nice to hear any thoughts on how the album as a whole stacks up to the rest of their catalogue..
  15. I’d 100% recommend him for any projects of that sort. His lo-fi lathes sound, well, like lathes, whereas I’ve got a few proper LPs that (whether bc of bad mastering, etc) sound worse than his hi-fi cuts do. And the 2xLP &7” came to about $120 in total, which I thought was quite reasonable.
  16. The ‘hi-fi’ Lathes that Tyler at Audio Geography cuts actually sound pretty impressive imho, but YES - of course an official pressing (hopefully from the master tapes) will sound better.
  17. I’m excited to see what they come up with, but skeptical given the sheer amount of music Kanno & co created for the show - a lot of the best tracks (imo) are spread out across the CDs that exist. I don’t think they’re likely to do a box set with all of it, sadly. I actually spent quite a bit to have a 2xLP + 7” lathe of ‘best sessions’ made on the assumption that the OST I want would never see the light of day. They’d have to really blow it out of the park for me to upgrade from that.
  18. I remember trying to get the details on 1972 when they dropped those Stereolab & Aphex Twin 'reissues' and coming up with nothing. Given the high profile titles and the listings on Amazon etc I assumed they were legit at first, but yeah - sketch. I'd love to know who runs it..
  19. Since the other replies covered all the shops in the Adams Morgan area, I'll just mention Hill & Dale in Georgetown as far as RSD stuff, and CD Cellar in nearby Falls Church, VA for crate-digging. H&D is exclusively new stuff but is also completely hidden and as a result probably the best spot for avoiding the RSD lines. CD Cellar on the other hand is a glorious mess and basically dumps all their new and used stuff together alphabetically under either 'rock' or 'jazz'. I find a lot of gems there.
  20. this is great news; I was just lamenting about this never being released on vinyl.
  21. yeah, I've had Tyler / AudioGeography cut me both hi-fi & lo-fi lathes. The hi-fi cuts sourced from wav files sound better than a lot of professionally released 45s I own. The lo-fi lathes sound like lathes (which works for me, but to each their own).
  22. I'd love to see an app for vinyl collecting that integrates the phone's camera and something akin to google images' "search by image" function. With a specialized data set (Discogs' image library of LP covers) you could get reasonably accurate results. I'm specifically talking about those occasional records with no clear typography, barcode, etc where something like that could really come in handy. Not every shop has a turntable I can test weird, cool mysterious shit on.
