  1. Yeah, I'm into it. The back-to-basics approach just feels right, especially after the Scott Walker collab (which I loved). People seem really hung up on M&D, but I find that one kind of a chore to spin in one sitting, whereas Kannon feels like the purest distillation of their sound to me and doesn't wear out its welcome. I guess what I'm saying is that Kannon is to 2015 Sunn what 'Star Wars' is to 2015 Wilco.
  2. I love this thread. -Everyone who balked at the price of the Converge LP/blu-ray box will shed tears when the unboxing videos hit the web next month. -Factory25 will continue to list the Spiritualized 'Live At Union Chapel' LP/dvd set as 'in production' until 2017, as they have since 2013. -The Body will have 7 different releases spread out over the course of the year, beating Thou's 6, but still short of Bob Pollard's 11. -Stores will continue to have a sad, lonely, 'RSD releases' section of all the horrid overpriced reissues that absolutely no one wants all year.
  3. I really want a Bestial Machinery vinyl box, but a new EP sounds good too
  4. It's cool that the early stuff will finally get a chance to be more widely available. Its also kinda crazy how immersed these kids were in grindhouse & exploitation film culture in the pre-internet era. The booklet will presumably shed some light on that aspect of the band. I also love the weird direction Numero has been going the last couple of years. Ever since they started branching out from the soul stuff they seem to announce a crazy new box or reissue series every few months, most of which end up on my want list.
  5. I think the one shop near me has a copy of the 2nd pressing (white vinyl, screened cardstock in the style of the cd art) for $10 or $15. If they've still got it I'll pick it up for ya. To answer an earlier question, they DID do the electronics live (at least when I saw them) and it was great. This is one of my favorite records, solely for how fucking out there it is, production-wise. They also had ridiculous merch - I have a white shirt with a giant screened 'sex positions' gold chain on it, which I'm now way too old to pull off.
  6. Every ltd version I've pre-ordered from Sacred Bones over the last couple years has shipped a week or so AFTER they've sent all the regular editions out, which is super frustrating. I pulled the trigger on this one because I have the ltd Lost Themes already, but given how weak the last several ltd covers have been (the Jenny Hval one in particular is laughable) I can't see myself ordering another unless they were to go back to screened jackets for them as well.
  7. Wound up ordering from KRM. I was at the Union Transfer show and had a great time, so it just makes sense. That said, it'd be nice to have a sample clip so we have a sense of what we're buying. Obviously they feel that the video+audio are ace as it's been used for the Blu-Ray, etc, but live albums are always a bit of a gamble, and I'm fairly surprised that the Deathwish store sold through with no preview of what we're actually getting.
  8. ordered. we'll see if it's legit. i haven't heard anything about a repress but considering what this goes for on the regular there's clearly a demand.
  9. An update: To date I have answered every QUESTION about condition, etc, and provided pics to anyone who has asked. A few people have made reasonable offers on stuff I'm comfortable parting with, and they've got records on the way to them as I write this, as they themselves have indicated above. I have NOT responded to every PM, nor am I obliged to in any way. I'm getting 10+ per day and most are laughable; "Taking offers" does not mean "everything must go", but if you see something you've been after for ages then by all means make an offer. GONE: -Bloc Party -BoysNightOut -Ghost -I Hate Myself -Pharaoh Overlord PENDING: -DFA1979
  10. To everyone who has PM'd me: Thanks for the interest - I'm considering all offers and there are a LOT to sort through, so if I haven't responded it doesn't mean that I'm not interested or that anything is gone per se. Please be patient and I'll get back to you soon!** I'm happy to post pics of anything as well, as far as condition or whatever - just ask! [**except for the handful of people who PM'd me asking how much I want for a record instead of making an offer, and then PM'd me AGAIN a few hours later to complain that I hadn't replied - I won't be, because you aren't ppl I wanna be entering into deals with.]
  11. I know I don't post here much, but I've got some shit going on in my life and I'm contemplating a substantial sell-off, so I figured I'd see what kind of interest there is in individual items before I look for a buyer to take the whole collection off my hands. I'm only really looking to part with LPs, as many of the 45s have sentimental value. All told there are over 1000 LPs collected over the last 10 years. Lots of weird shit for everybody. I'm generally open to offers 'below-discogs', but feel free to lowball me and maybe you'll get lucky. Post here or PM me, either works. THE RECORDS that link takes you to a read-only spreadsheet indexing my collection. some things this board might like: BRAND NEW / GENGHIS TRON / GLASS CANDY / JESU ANIMAL COLLECTIVE / AVALANCHES / GROUPER DFA1979 / GHOST / FUCK BUTTONS / COHEED
  12. still waiting on mine to ship from amazon japan. surprised NO ONE seems to have any photos of the thing as yet..
  13. Tough call for me; I'm not much on live albums, but I was at this show AND that photo book sounds ace. May have to grab this..
  14. I know that we've all had the bootlegs argument to death, but I'm just going on record here that the copy I have sounds great (except that it's missing 2 songs, albeit the 2 I care the least about), and is of roughly similar overall quality to that Lost Highway boot floating around (another of my fave's from that era). I'd drop more cash on a legit release if-and-only-if the A-side ends with a locked groove of "It can't rain all the time".
  15. The EVA ost was unearthed on amazon japan a few pages back, but it looks like they just added a picture of the new cover art for it, and I'm pleased. Considering how off-the-mark a lot of the EVA marketing goes, I'm really happy with the look of this, assuming it's what this actually ends up looking like. *crosses fingers*
  16. After a couple listens, I'm liking this quite a bit & will probably pick up a copy. I've had to get over the fact that it lacks the melancholy 'Wilco sound' in the Summerteeth-to-Sky Blue Sky era sense. What it DOES sound like Is harder to pin down. Maybe a more concise 'Whole Love' against a mishmash of Pavement, US Maple, & Boris (the guitar tone)??
  17. By the time i went to check out, the Haxan Cloak & Dinosaur L records were out of stock, but I scored these: HeadWoundCity 12" Lee Gamble - Koch 2xLP M Geddes Gengras - Ishi LP for $41 after shipping, which is still a pretty great deal. Well, it would be, except the website hung at checkout seemingly charging my card twice. If both charges stick I'm hoping they'll be easy to contact about that..
  18. Meanwhile the full score for the original Terminator still hasn't seen the light of day on vinyl, and the abridged OST still sells for $$$. Where's THAT reissue??!?
  19. Amazon listing has changed, now shows September 18th..
  20. I'm waaaaay more excited for that Cave In - Creative Eclipses 12" they announced. Bonus tracks?!?! Luminance is one of the best tracks they ever did, so a remaster is great news to me. Now we just need some more info..
  21. So I'm still waiting on my copy to arrive, but a few things come to mind about this: I'm fairly certain this is the same guy behind the fairly high quality boots of Smashing Pumpkins, Nick Cave, et al. Those two have since seen nice legit reissues (quality issues with the Pumpkins box not withstanding), so clearly there are folks in the industry paying attention. At the same time, I was able to figure out who the guy is with about 30 seconds of googling, and he's been doing this for a LONG time, a decade at least, as a sideline to his label's normal releases (though he's certainly stepped it up in the last few years). The fact that he's still up & running despite industry eyes are clearly gauging how his boots do (to determine what they ought to reissue) means that I need to step up my own bootleg game!
  22. user: closetjunk101 It's the same guy selling the Lost In Translation boots, among other things. I'm fairly sure he does most of the boots on HHV. You might be able to save some $$ if you contact him directly, but I don't wanna 'out him' here. Do some googling..
