I don't see how this is analogous really. The 2814 was billed as a limited variant when the only previous pressing was black, and then they decided after it sold out that they were just gonna make a shitload more of that same variant. With this, the original limited exclusive is still the most rare variant and there were at least two other known variants before they announced the second exclusive.

I thought I had this album and slept on this all weekend until I realized just now that I don't have it, so I'm glad that clear is still around.
