  1. Got these, listened to them all, overall pretty spectacular job by Inside Out! Very impressed. Can't wait for the Ayreon releases to come out.
  2. Sounds like your thinking about this too much as is, I wouldn't do anything that would make you more involved. This guy wants to penetrate your (life), don't let him in. This guy is a dummy, and he's weak, I'd observe until you have enough to get a restraining order.
  3. I'm just glad to see an Enslaved thread get 10 replies, I started one for RIITIIR and got none I got the 2LP white/charcoal splatter in the mail yesterday, haven't spun it yet, haven't listened to anything aside from the Thoughts stream they released. Looking forward to it. Axioma was amazing, so was Vertebrae, really a band that I don't think gets its due.
  4. The worst is the dudes at the flea market who a) fucking stank, and 2) physically take up two rows of some dudes 3 row selection checking every records worth on their phone or even calling up their stink buddy who's probably halfway through a marathon jerk session and reading off matrix numbers so they can get that White Whale they've been looking for and maybe end up making what? $10 dollars profit off eBay, minus fees? which, all told, is what the dude will probably end up spending at Burger King on the way home.
  5. Here's a great argument for the case that it is: Just like when books were invented people thought they would rot peoples brains, then it was TV, now the internet... Or Shakespearean plays>silent movies>talkies... The last part about time, I look at my vinyl collection and wonder if that's not part of the reason I buy records. Records can and do decay, do we feel closer to them because they are affected by time like we are?
  6. Yea, we should be happy it's not cut at 44.1/16 bit resolution, which is what CD is. I'd say most LP's nowadays are cut at that resolution. 96/24 is usually advertised as audiophile or they at least make a note of it as they did here. I'm not sure how it goes but I don't think many are cut from the actual tape anymore, though I could be totally off.
  7. Amazon is legit, they treat that shit like a contract. It would be one thing if they didn't actually carry the item listed, but like you said it's the exact same product. I'm guessing they change it by the end of the day, still honoring the ones who got it in in time.
  8. Opening up Spotify.... Ahh yes. Deftones are so fucking consistent, one of the few that made their mark immediately in the early-mid 90's melodic hard rock game and are still around. Even outlasted Tool. That said, White Pony is my favorite, next is S/T, favorite song is Anniversary, I go back to that song so much. Love when they experiment with songs like Lucky You and even the weird songs on SNW. I have to listen to that album more, and their last one caught me at an odd time, I never really spent adequate time with it.
  9. Also pre-ordered just in case, I've heard of this happening with a Blu-ray box set, and they fulfilled those orders.... so who knows.
  10. I love that album cover, must've kept the same guy who did Saturday Night Wrist. Captures a very specific late 70's era cocaine on the glass piano feeling.
  11. http://www.spin.com/articles/tomahawk-first-lp-in-six-years-stone-letter New single "Stone Letters" streaming, so does that make 2 RSD 7", or just the one? Sounds Mit Gassian, really traditional song structure with enough mystical elements to have that Tomahawk stamp on it. Like that main riff. Dunn sounds great on the chorus. Definitely feels like "the single". Hopefully the rest will be more out there.
  12. Just like in any profession, policemen and women feel the need to "earn their money", to the detriment of actually improving a situation. Just look at how many cops are standing around this "routine traffic stop" or whatever they're calling it. They're chomping at the bit to get a pat on the shoulder and a "good job" from Daddy. On the other hand, you have people like this woman who want to be caught by Daddy and scolded because they too were ignored as children. It's a simple game that should've ended with a slap on the wrist or a stern talking to--a simple intimacy exchange for both parties. What she didn't anticipate was that this power-tripping "policeman" would use this silly string escapade as an excuse to reconcile his own dark memories of abuse and humiliation.
  13. Ordered. Thanks for the heads up. I also ordered the Symphony X records, passed on the Spock's Beard, shipping is $4 per unit plus $2 base fee, then shit ton of sales tax. 4 records came out to just under $90.
  14. Got the same e-mail, debating whether to cancel and get the exclusive blue vinyl from CMDistro, they seem to think it will be ready by 11/6/12.
  15. I listened last night, no expert comparing, but I couldn't discern any preference of one channel over the other.
  16. Good to know, was wondering when my Omerch order would ship.
  17. http://www.cmdistro..../Devin_Townsend CMDistro has the DT records listed, they say out of stock but I'm assuming that's because the preorder isn't open yet. And those prices! EDIT: They also have every other vinyl in this series listed, all at $13.60. They're all currently listed as sold out (which I'm sure will change).
  18. So how do you switch people over from a company that sells "cool", you try and make them look "uncool", which is what this ad is trying to do. I wouldn't say Samsung was WAY off with this commercial.
  19. I have this... interesting. I'll check out my copy when I get home.
