Most of these blues artists only released singles during a given time period, so those types of comps are essential.

synapsistapped got a reaction from SquareDealOnline in Need a cheap price for 10" outer dust sleeves
I order my sleeves from SquareDealOnline out of Southern California: http://www.squaredealonline.com/b.asp?v=75
You can get 25 10" sleeves for $12.80 ppd.
I usually order here in bulk, though, because it makes more sense with the shipping price. I recently ordered 200 12" sleeves, 50 10" sleeves, and 100 7" sleeves (all 3 mil) for about $50 ppd.

synapsistapped reacted to Vinyl Fury in frogstomp pre-order
180 gram records do not have deeper grooves. They are made from the same stampers as lower weight records. The only sonic advantage of a 180 gram record would be if it is virgin vinyl, which it is supposed to be.
And techincally, black vinyl is colored vinyl. Vinyl is clear, graphite is added which makes it black.
If a colored record 'sounds like ass' it most likely not because it is on colored vinyl, it's because it is mastered or cut like ass.

What kind of sleeves are you using for your box sets? For instance, I have a few the size of the Bob Dylan and Wilco I need to sleeve up.

FYI, there are two different colored variants of this record:
One mail order pressing of 500 - Dark blue with black haze - The one most people have posted pictures of here
One tour-only pressing of 250 - Light blue with dark blue and black haze - The one initially posted on TRLs Facebook (the light blue is not transparent)

synapsistapped reacted to mac1 in Paul Ryan's Speech
You can also fact check this so-called fact checker. This was not written by a generic Fox News staffer but, Sally Kohn who is obviously a leftist, and gets published on the site to provide "balance" every couple of weeks. And there is not a comments section to push-back on her deception. Her last article, published 8/14, stated funny things may happen because of this Ryan guy. Huh, that's weird. This article makes everything she wrote previously come true.
So here goes on the so-called deception:
1.) The credit downgrade happened under this administration. You cannot blame the TP for stopping the out of control spending that went on for two years after the Democrats took total control in 2008. The 2010 election sent the TP Patriots to DC to stop the spending.
2.) Like NASA, the GM plant was slated to close in 2008, but both were closed down in 2009 under obozo's watch. However, obozo went there in 2008 and said he would give government support for the next 100 years if he became president. Cars were still being produced until June 2009 and the funding was never available. NASA now calls Russia to get to the Space Station. Choices were made to NOT save NASA or the GM plant.
3.) Yes, obozo said "You didn't build that" and "the private sector is doing fine". Both off prompter. Both describe his mind-set.
4.) Yes, obozo has gutted the current Medicare, along with the addition of more taxes, the fund the Democrats ObamaCare Tax package. The ObamaCare Tax was also passed by only Democrats using sneaking tactics (reconcilitation) to push thru after Kennedy died. You must remember "we have to pass it to find out what is in it" meme.
If you believe Fox News or everything people like Sally Kohn write, and refuse to do your own homework, then there is nothing I can do to change your mind. The speech last night was fantastic and he is everything this country needs right now. obozo, and an over-bearing, tax-creating government support of everything, is yesterdays news. Just look around after six years of the government picking winners and losers.

synapsistapped reacted to BuzzersonKillwell in The Heavy Eyes - Heavy Eyes (Blues / Stoner / Rock)
I realize I have different tastes than a lot of folk here so this maybe never be a VC Hype band, if we can figure out what that even is, but if you are into Clutch, the Sword, Graveyard and similar bands you might like these guys. I just bought this on a whim, and have been enjoying it this morning.
Looks like they have 3 copies left of Blue (limited to 150) and a few more on Black (also out of 150) which run $22 or $24PPD. Shipping is a little pricey, what can you do.

As much as I still dig the new track, it's the same song that they keep rehashing.

synapsistapped reacted to Vinyl Fury in Weezer Blue Album on Back to Black - August 13th
Back to Black seems to be more of a 'let's get this on vinyl and sell some more copies' where as mofi is about getting ahold of the best source, mastering at half speed, pressing at a quality plant and providing a quality product. Their remastering of Beck - Sea Change is absolutely phenomenal. I really look forward to their blue album pressing (the press release says they put a lot of effort into making it sound better than ever) and their upcoming Miles Davis pressings.
