Problem is you might find Wretch and Circus Leaves Town least interesting or somewhat inferior 'cause they kinda don't represent the pinnacle of the band's discography.

Billy's cleary got a wider demand for this release, although he may not have enough to release it in Thefutureembrace style. Noticing that he has a considerable amount of SP fans worldwide interested on it, it woudn't be a bad idea to press a small CD edition in cardboard sleeve and probably fill the wider gap in a most economical way while keep pressing 2xLPs as remaining demand shows up. One thing that slipped through: that sample sounds nothing like Billy Corgan related.

Boris changes their sound a lot. They actually sound like they're messing with different genres and ideas just to give their fans that face. And they're very prolific, most of their stuff sound like they didn't care to think twice before releasing. So you'll get albums released close to each other with significantly different approaches, or you'll find them collaborating with someone like Merzbow going through a unexpected path. But I'd say, summoning things up, that Pink would be a closing point from their first albums where they inherited influences mostly from the Melvins and sounded straight, heavier and noisier. Smile, the following album, and their (nice) collaboration with Michio Kurihara (Rainbow) opened their scope even more, to the point where they even messed with JPop, or something close to it (New Album). They're always coming back, flirting with the sound that made them most recognized for, but to my ears they are struggling to keep things interesting.

DIIV have been messing with new recording sessions since last year. Cole seems to work in the silent side (as Wild Nothing does) so don't be surprised if a new album simply gets announced in a regular Facebook day. Hopefully, they will. Oshin is one of my favorite albums from last decade.

And unfortunately the vinyl "revival" is largely based on this. There's even two "Record Store Days" per year to "celebrate" this habit. Labels like Young God who cut the crap and focus on making stuff available to support demand are becoming rare.

He's pretty right about the way Boris puts out their music and that made me lose interest over them, it came to a point where there was no reason to keep following the band - plus - it was a point of quantity/collecting frenzy over the quality of their music, which IMHO became forgetable. Rollins is spot on, let's face it, I could see myself in many of those examples. Perhaps not as hardcore as he makes it look like but I can perfectly get myself thinking the same way or having some of the feelings he portraied. It's good to sometimes sit back and think about how enjoyable this hobby is (I don't think the word sums up my relation with music and records) and start drawing new limit lines. Have done several times and I'm glad I can somehow deal much better with it, kinda put myself in control of the situation and just let some opportunities go, something that I wouldn't be glad to do in the past. I also worry about how my wife or descendents will deal with hundreds of pointless records when I die. I surely wouldn't want to deal with theirs.

On the other hand, My Bloody Valentine was able to pull a master move with m b v, coming to terms with the legacy of Loveless. Kevin Shields made it happen by surrounding his new album around his masterpiece at the same time he was pushing the boundaries of what people would expect from the record. It's a great example of how a band doesn't depend on an exact momentum to write awesome music. m b v IMHO has the merits of sounding necessary to their discography at the same time it sounds exactly as the record they would have done if the band hasn't wrapped up in that long hiatus. So there's hope.

Reunion albums tend to be much more miss then hit. But there's Swan and Earth, who reinvented themselves and came out of the limbo with music that was equal or even better than the one they did during their glorious days. Especially Earth, who took a whole different approach and kinda crafted a sound of their own that hooked their habitual listeners from a 180° perspective, still sounding somewhat evil and full of decay. Still, Sleep would have to deal with the legacy of Dopesmoker which, as we can see, is nothing but influential. But Al is a respectable musician, he's one of those from who you could expect something greater than a Soundgarden or Pixies trick,

If I'm not mistaken, Southern Lord directed facebook users to Sleep's merch table when asked about a possible Holy Mountain repress. They made it look like the band itself managed to make copies available at gigs and that was last year or around the time Doepsmoker was getting its second ou third repress by SL.

Will wait a couple of days for black wax. That gives me time to think twice about including Bees in the package.

General interest over those seem pretty promising. Lots of fans urging for them. I've got both first pressings, and will probably order a black wax of Hex (in the hopes that this pressing has lower surface noise) but I'm still not sure if I'll get Bees. The first pressing package weights a ton and is oversized, will cost a fortune to ship again. But as with Hex, Bees could also have its noise issued dealt with this new pressing, I'll have to think quick. Would be happy if there was a "standard" version of it along with the "bible" version.

Also, price seems OK for 1xLP + 2xCS.

Bit the bullet and ordered the box. Thanks for the heads up. Both Craft Spells and Wild Nothing are one of my favorite "pop" acts from this era. They are constantly played over here.

Yeah, I've got all their 12" but I never bothered to search for the 7" and 10". Great band and usually opposite to most fans, I tend to appreciate their latest releases more than the first ones.
