  1. Due to the reissue campaign, I've been giving my deluxe CDs a lot of pleasant listens as of recently. That absolutely makes things harder for Billy with his latest outputs.
  2. Not sure it will move the "band" further from where Oceania took them. Not bad, but far from being noteworthy.
  3. What I meant was, I guess most of us believed that the thing with the band was the contrast between harsh, loud guitars and the sweet, fragile female vocals, which surely played a major role in Distressor. When you guys mentioned that they were performing live with a single vocalist, it sounded like they were going against their main quality and would perhaps lose what could be their best point. But both Sway and now the split shows that they were not either able to surpass the lack of a female vocals but to maybe sound as an even better band, at least to my ears. Both of their latest releases are amongst my top 5 records from 2014.
  4. Interesting that, contrary to general opinion, the lack of female vocals didn't harm their mojo. It actually made them sound even better.
  5. The Whirr song... Jesus Christ, best new band from the last couple of years. Can't wait to get my hands on my package,
  6. Local mail is ok, unfortunately, it's been more than a year that international packages are taking ages to be released by local customs. Some customers won't figure this out and will probably ask you about the package, they'll assume it's lost or stolen. You'll have to deal with them. Oh, of course you can always trust guys like me who will understand the reason for the delay and will just give it them necessary time It shows up, eventually. I'd say you can send, the package will ultimately arrive here. But if you want to be sure, ask a few more for registration.
  7. Sounds like the natural sequel do Oceania. Unfortunately, he's unable to restore his vocals up to his greatest days, His voice's been sounding this way since Zwan. For recording's sake I'd choose a less proeminent vocal, somehow buried in the mix. Musically, I think it'll do good with fans who enjoyed Oceania. No big rush to actually own the album but will gladly give it a listen.
  8. I'll probably skip it. The demo tape is what this box is all about and I can't justify spending $100 for it. Was listening to my Fantômas CDs lately and they are enough, can't see myself listening to the vinyl frequently.
  9. Song reminds me of Nirvana. Don't know why, actually.
  10. Thanks Ryan / Olivia. Wouldn't expect a different approach from you guys. I've ordered the purple-ish a couple of days ago. In case it sounds better, it should fill my "audiophile" needs and and exchange wouldn't be necessary, Otherwise, I'll get in touch,
  11. Finally took the time to listen to the regular black copy. Decent pressing, a couple of noises during some parts but pretty standard in an aftermath. I noticed the first minutes play somehow out of pace, as if the intro tracks are a bit distorted but it eventually finds the right point after some seconds. On the production side, there's no way you can tell it was MP3 sourced, at least not worse than any of your regular vinyl release. Sounded massive in my home stereo, opposite to how the MP3s sounded through my cheap headphones. Will listen to the 180g copy and compare them. It was a sought after and well done reissue, cheers to Flenser.
  12. Finally got my retail copy in the mail. Unfortunately, the comments about the pressing (lack of) quality are real, it just crackles everywhere. An irony that the best album of the year was turned into wax with one of the worst pressings I have in my collection. Hopefully Ryan will repress it (180g perhaps?) with another factory. The album deserves it.
  13. Cool. Preordered along with a purple-ish variant of "Sway".
  14. Succumbed and ordered both Nothing's full lenghts. Had some recent personal issues and this kind of music just fit so well. Currently listening to those and Whirr a lot.
  15. Damn, if you enjoyed the new Whirr record (yep, the drums are crazy indeed) and think the songs from the split might be even better, then this release better be out soon. Sway is 2014's AOTY and I can't get enough of it.
  16. Will be tough to resist to this one, even with the fact that I've beaten up my CDs to death.
  17. I had to forward Flenser an extra $20 to complement shipping costs for a 180g + a regular version. They weren't abel to send the package through First Class Mail, so a Priority shipping was chosen instead. I'm expecting nothing but a substantial package.
  18. Sway is my album of the year and I seriously doubt that it'll change until december 31st. I kinda felt it upon first listen and it just grows stronger.
