  1. It's a bit too dense and it almost loses itself sometimes, somewhat a Desert Sessions with major production. I think I Sat By The Ocean stands out as the best song (ironically, the most straight song along with My God Is The Sun) but I also enjoy the slow songs. Josh found the right mood with them.
  2. Any other distro carrying this one? Was unlucky to get the official one to ship to me.
  3. Bought and listened a lot to this record this year. It's pretty good but I think he's a better rapper than a soul/funk performer. His work on Dr. Dre's Compton is amazing. Still, his albums are great for sunny hot days.
  4. Yeah. me neither (I also ordered the magazine). But if I'm not mistaken, the shipping date was set do january when I ordered. I believe there were different batches sold within that friday and I probably got the latest ones, with postponed shipping.
  5. Well, the magazine is still up at boysdontcry for the same crazy $80. The shirt, music and posters have been brought down. It makes me think that Blonde is getting a regular, wide release and the Black Friday 24h thing was a way to push the release and give people the opportunity to preorder it, although the site didn't make it clear. Perhaps an exclusive color? It doesn't seem reasonable that they would go into this whole artwork, pressing and distribution work for a 24h timeframe of sales when they could feed a bigger and obvious audience.
  6. Weird. I mean this one: https://www.discogs.com/Frank-Ocean-Blond/release/8954762 If you check the pictures, there's supposed to be two bonus tracks.
  7. Any idea if the tracklisting is the same between the 2xLP / CD / book CD? I read there was an alternative tracklisting with two bonus tracks in a CD-R when it was released some months ago. I actually never came across this alternative version...
  8. I bought both the vinyl and the magazine without hesitation. My favorite album from 2016. Fuck, my physical collector persona is now happy.
  9. No local stores around here, but thanks for the tip. If anyone's aware of online stores that might be carrying the LP+7", I'll be glad to be directed to...
  10. Anyone willing to get rid of the bundle? I'm in search of one.
  11. The album is badass. Beautiful music and melodies buried under tons of vocoders, autotunes and electronic paraphernalia. It seems cold, frozen, but it's not. His music is all there, it's just a matter of givng your ears the necessary time.
  12. Judging by the couple of first listens, despite the supposed lack of depthness, the album will undoubtly grow on me. Ii's not an instant click as Bon Iver was but I can yet feel that there's enough to dig under the upcoming listens.
  13. Now that's a great idea. I may ending up bitting this bullet.
  14. I was expecting something in the surrounds of Channel Orange but as their hard genesis would hint, both records are way out of that scope. They are beautiful but minimal at the same time and Frank's qualities are all over them. He carries the whole thing as if the beats and guitars almost weren't necessary. It's like you have to dig for more in music that sounds somewhat rushed and shallow but once it clicks, it's awesome. I don't remember listening to music like that lately, especially in black music albums where people is usually all over the place. And Blond has beaten Endless for me so far. I suspect I'll be listening to those records a lot in the forthcoming months.
  15. This is probably my life's favorite record. I don't think I'll ever relate so deeply with any other record as I did with TROWFTD.
  16. Exactly. Keep coming back regularly to it. I love the it it sounds muddy and kind of inhebriated.
  17. Judging by both singles, the new album seems to big a major turn in songwriting approach. I really dig Bon Iver and keep coming back to previous albums but somehow question if the new songs will lack of depth.
  18. It didn't click around here, unfortunately. It just feels like BoH ran out of ideas or of a strong motivation to write songs. I felt the same about the previous record. But I'm glad you guys enjoyed it.
  19. They increased the number of available copies. I love my O))) collection. Perhaps the one that gives me the most pleasure to keep on going with. Designs and packages are always amazing.
  20. I've got mixed feelings. Best songs are up to Tatum's quality standards. Nice melodic hooks and turns, he's a gifted and prolific songwriter. Those songs worked very well when I saw them live back in november and they clicked again when I first listened to the album. But at least 50% of the record sounds like rushed or somewhat less inspired material. Almost like fillers. So I'd say so far (and hopefully I'm jumping a little bit early at this) that the sum of the parts makes Life Of Pause the less inspired record in WN's discography.
