You posted this reply a 11:58AM EST. 2 minutes before noon. I had the page loaded but when I refreshed just now I am 4007 in queue and apparently will have to wait 37 minutes. Stupid fucking RT.
Yep, I got in about 20 minutes early, and kept refreshing. It looks like the stock went live around 11:54 am.
LOL, my time is apparently up at the site. Now I'm 5,707th in line. Record Store Day is dumb.

GDI, I was in at Rough Trade, but no luck. It opened up 5 minutes early, but there either weren't any copies of Dirty Three, or there were just a couple and people were faster than me. sigh.
-
oh, people will definitely buy it for sure. I'm not a variant collector though, so I'm currently convincing myself I don't need it. Same with [Untitled], if they ever do that. The original box is going to be hard to beat. I'll definitely double dip on Pale Horses though. The concept was nice, but it ended up turning out pretty shitty. Mine is ripped and smooshed and doesn't sit on the shelf nice.

I'm guessing tour. Even if it is the next deluxe edition, I assume it would be Ten Stories. They're going to have to include some unique audio in there to justify it. The original box was great, and there are too many releases for me to keep up on to worry about a matching spine.

Then again, some guy in Ohio sold 3 copies on eBay last nite for $277, with another listed now. --Thanks again,
I wish I could find out who this was. Would slap this mf. Still looking for D3

Found this US store that might have some when their RSD stocks go live at 7pm. Says PST, so i'm guessing it's middle of the afternoon over there currently? It's gone midnight here in UK!
I don't see a link here. Would you mind reposting?

GDI, I really want that Dirty Three, but I don't want it for UK import or eBay prices...

I think this may have been a UK only? But I could be full of shit

Mogwai is UK RSD, but is going to be indie exclusive in the USA. Should be able to find this later without much trouble.

Not just you; it’s not added yet. Flippers are taking that one to eBay. Already spied a few sold for $200+ this morning.
hate. I was able to find an Engine Kid online. Still looking for Dirty Three. I hate Record Store Day.

While I admit I am a little bummed that they've basically completely ditched the harsh vocals on this record, I am pretty excited to hear the entire album. I've been listening to the single a lot in the last day and I absolutely love it. It's a real grower and I can't wait for the rest of the album.
-
New song is great. Is there a place to order the new album along with older records? They've been on my to-buy list forever, and it would be nice to grab them at once.

If anyone uses Chrome and want's a free VPN extension to hear the song, K2VPN works.
Thanks, that was really helpful! The song surprised me. I like it, but I can see how it would be really divisive. I can't imagine the entire album will be like this. As Derek mentioned, the last minute hints at some traditional Deafheaven material. Still, I imagine this album will be pretty different, and I am here for it.

Also, for what it's worth, Velocity records did confirm on instagram that this pressing of Waiting is the remaster from a few years back.
bummer. Thanks for confirming though.

excited to hear this!

will wait for black. That price is stupid.
-
yeah, it was announced a while ago. an RSD release in the UK, and indie exclusive in the US

Virus had some serious bangers, but the production was a little muddy and brickwalled, and I don't revisit it that often. I have been listening to the Crimson Corridor a lot lately. Great songs and production. I also really like the quieter melodic moments. They help the heavy parts punch more.

Curious to see what they do for a thrice box set!
especially since they only released part of Thrice's catalog. Could be a weird box set.
-
has it been confirmed if this is the remaster?
-
I can get that people would like it, and I think trying something new is admirable if everyone in the band is onboard (clearly wasn't the case). The new song could be okay if they had a better drummer locking down the beat. The half time on the hats is weird and ends up making the song sound really weak and boring.

You make it seem like the band had no agency in their decision making.
I agree that the last album was craptacular, but it was 100% Carrie and Corin's fault. The drums on this new song are really weak and Janet's absence is really obvious.

This album was the beginning of the end for me with Thursday. I loved Waiting, Full Collapse, and War. ACBTLD on CD just sounded strange, and Common Existence was unlistenable for me.
I really enjoy the songs on ACBTLD, I just never listen to it because of the production. I didn't really connect with Common Existence or No Devolucion, but I love the Envy split. The production on that is beautiful too.
-
yeah, the Hot Topic WAAT was trash. I don't really see a point in ACBTLD though unless it gets a new mix/master, which will never happen. The band apparently likes the brickwalled shit sound.

They cancelled all the orders. I also had one in at Popmarket, and they eventually just gave up.
I'd be very happy with a scratch n dent copy at a reasonable price. I refuse to pay the insane import or flipper prices for this.
