I love a colorway that can accent the album art (or packaging) without jeopardizing sound quality, but yeah, I hear you on that.  As years have gone on, I've found myself drawn to more subtle variants.  Just gimme' 1 color on translucent vinyl that works well with the center labels / compliments the cover, and I'm quite happy.

I'm over color vinyl in general. Splits and especially tri-color splits can fuck right off. Occasionally I get a color variant that I think looks great, and fits the album well, but most of it is trashy looking and has the potential to compromise the audio.

I echo what everybody is saying. Seems as if his Daughters bandmates knew this was coming recently going on *hiatus*? Also seeing as Kristen reached out to them and she was ignored. Disgusting!

I will take a splatter over a split any day of the week.

That’s cool and all if that’s a principle artists want to apply to their music, but I’ve found that 99% of them eventually go back on that idea, because money.  Life happens, expenses happen – I wish I had a nickel for every time I heard an artist or label say that there are zero plans to ever repress a certain album, only to see it as a limited drop or RSD exclusive within 2-5 years.

Bootleg markets – especially those priced this excessively – are everything wrong with modern vinyl though.  Someone in another thread speculated that the kind of music that gets posted on VC – shit from the last 30 years, colored vinyl, limited editions – are more or less the NFTs of music enthusiasts.  That seems exemplified with boots.  These are all sourced from MP3s and can sound serviceable at best… but jokes aside, you can legitimately stream the same music at 320 or even 192 kbps, while simultaneously playing a YouTube video of “Vinyl Crackle Sound FX”, and you’re going to get the same result.  From a listening perspective, it’s a total meme to willingly pay $70 for this junk.  What that leaves is the satisfaction people get from having the spine of this record visible on their shelf.  Or the option to have it framed, I suppose.  Or the opportunity to snap a photo of it for Instagram (perhaps alongside the more affordable albums in the band’s discography) to larp as a devout fan and flex a complete collection, I guess.
 
“But OG copies are $600.  I’m not paying that.”  Then don’t, as you shouldn't.  Anyone who has been collecting vinyl for more than 6-7 years is probably aware of how everything eventually gets a reissue or repress.  There’s been stuff that I would have never in my wildest dreams imagined would get repressed; albums from bands who’ve been defunct for 10+years, with labels no longer in business, and seemingly no demand to have the music pressed again.  Patience is a virtue, etc.  I would rather have a gap where that album will eventually go, than a garbage copy that “sounds okay” as MP3s on wax.  But I’m me and you’re you.  Maybe I value shelf space more than you do.  Maybe $70 means more to me and the new releases I buy than it does to you and the prospect of saying you can finally own something that resembles a coveted album. People buy pastries with the sole intent of sitting on them and ripping ass so who am I to say what the world should or should not be spending money on at the of the day?

While this is frustrating, it does at least give me hope they have  a Loses Control repress up their sleeves still.

Yup.  I would anticipate at worst, maybe 1 or 2 Shaq gifs or zany / sarcastic responses... but for the most part, it seems like a genuine question and the boards are so slow these days that some folks probably enjoy the "challenge".  Way different than everyone dog-piling on a new face trying to half-ass a thesis paper.

Numero just needs to absorb them or something, I completely agree.  Seam and The For Carnation have been near the top of my list for some reissues from T&G.

Been going to thrice shows for nearly 20 years now. I’m thankful not to see the same old shit/same old show for the umpteenth time. Thankful for something different. It would be a waste of money to just hear the songs I’ve heard live 20-30 times already. At this point, I hope I never hear Deadbolt live again.

I would love to see that Rock Action box happen.
The Rave Tapes and HWND boxes are great, and they seem to use that same box style for all their deluxe editions (just varying depth). YT is the only box I am missing, aside from the Central Belters comp, which seemed unnecessary. I'd love to see them go all out for an updated Young Team deluxe box set.

If it's worth anything to you, the YT box is a little physically underwhelming.  Since the vinyl is only housed in paper sleeves, it leaves a ton of space inside the box and ends up feeling more hollow than substantial or premium, like the CODY box from 2014.  The album deserves a way better treatment on the "deluxe" front.  I'd love to at least get a confirmation that that's what the band is working on.  It seems to me like a lot of thought and attention was put into reissuing these early EPs – how easy would it have been for them to just blow up the EP+6 art, slap it onto a gatefold, and squeeze everything onto 2 black LPs? – so I'm kind of hoping they do something comparably special for Young Team.

Same boat on all fronts, minus the YT box.  I sort of regret not getting the RT or HWND boxes at the time – the HWND box more-so – but not quite enough to actively track them down.  Would love to own MFMK, too, but I've heard too many lackluster things about the existing press.  Couple that with most copies being in VG+ status at best, and it becomes tough to pony up the $40+ everyone is asking for.
 
It's not as imminent as the YT reissue but the band has repeatedly mentioned that a lot of material was cut from Rock Action in 2001.  There's been tentative plans to release it alongside Rock Action in a deluxe box, but they allegedly want to make it extra special and give it the love it deserves... and for the time being, they just can't.  (Whether that's financially or from a time / energy standpoint, I'm not sure.)  So, maybe someday.  If it's as elaborate as they're suggesting it'd be, I have no doubt it'll include MFMK and that will totally work for me.

My Father My King needs a quality repress. The OG sounds like garbage.
