deletedunknown got a reaction from Sandmankev in Best Townes Van Zandt album(s)?
Live at the Old Quarter is a great live album that showcases not just his music, but his personality. Townes' music is best on show on his most stripped back albums. Just him, his guitar, and minimal accompaniment.

Got a response back from Anna, and they're still going at assembling the box sets. She said all order will go out with the mispress and either the manufacturer or they will send out the fixed 7" once it's pressed correctly. The mispress should be a fun project to make a new jacket, collaged, xeroxed, and foldover style.

Peregrine is remastered specifically for vinyl finally. Maria, who did the art for Casket Girls and Marshmallow Ghosts, did embroidery based on the original art. It looks really fucking pretty.

Dont know of any in williamsburg but if you swing up to Richmond there are a few good ones.
Plan 9 music: big selection of new and used
Deep Groove: A lot of newer stuff
Steady Sounds: New and used indie as well as older stuff
Vinyl Conflict: Amazing place if you are into Punk/Hardcore. Definitely my favorite store in Richmond.

Awesome band. Miss Daitro, but this makes up for it.

I have a feeling the test presses were fine and the factory forgot to switch out a plate when it went to production.
They still should've listened to the finished product though.

Ask and receive. Honestly, I had been meaning to do this from the get-go... but this request gave me the motivation to whip this up.

deletedunknown reacted to tomfoolery in Pelican?
Just to bring this back up (sorry, I'm not just Larry bashing I promise) I have been listening to a lot of Pelican recently and here is my take on it.
Early stuff (basically everything before City of Echos) has a sort of lazy feel to to, almost like everyone in the band is a bit behind, I know this isn't possible but I'm not a professional reviewer of music and not really sure how else to put it. The drumming matches the rest of the music well though and I am a fan of pretty much all of this era Pelican. Then City... came along and it was the first album that to me the drumming on sounded poor. There are some really interesting things going on in that album but there are a few (a few too many) times where the drumming will make me cringe a bit. Since that we have had WWACTN which I'm listening to now, the drumming is much sharper. I read an interview with Larry where he said he had been working hard since he got slated for City and I really think you can hear the improvement here. I never really gave WWACTN that much time when it came out but it is a really good album. Forever Becoming certainly has a different flavour to it, a bit faster and I feel an extension of the difference between earlier work and WWACTN, the drumming on it works well and I can't hear anything that immediately jumps out as 'poor'.
TLDR Old stuff is good, City of Echos makes my cringe, everything since is different to old stuff but still good.

I really hoped so. Not to throw a jab at you personally, but I'm never surprised by the lack of reading comprehension these days. Ain't no one got time to read threads completely.

Derek. I think I am a little confused. Can you please explain this a little further for me?

I've been thinking about making a thread like this, especially after seeing cryprvs' stuff.
I need to upgrade to a real website, but I'm using tumblr for now. Very basic: http://dustindonovan.tumblr.com/
The latest is a set of prints that are kinda nsfw, so I'll spoiler it

Ouch. At least he doesn't stitch together 50 takes for the drum track of one song.

deletedunknown got a reaction from FailureByDesign in Brand New - TDAGARIM repress in 11/4
It would be awesome if this was some indication that a new album is already planned called Electricity Is Dangerous. Even better if they sounded like a version of themselves that would fit with 80/90s Touch and Go releases (it's a stretch my mind is making for some reason, sure would piss off a lot of fans too).

Totally. I get it. But oddly enough I'm not trying to make loot, I'm trying to create something nifty. If I was simply trying to make loot I would definitely not continue running a label. Or I would release music that I know people would like for sure instead of simply following my heart. In fact I actually find running a label to be an uphill battle. But that's another conversation.
Anywho, like I said before I'm very moody so I could go against everything I feel right now in a few hours. Thanks for the support!

That illustration was done for Mondo, yes? Considering Mondo teamed up with Disney (http://blog.mondotees.com/2014/01/31/oh-my-disney-and-mondo-present-nothings-impossible/), I think it's safe to assume the artists doing illustrations for Mondo had Disney's permission.
Edit: Also on disney.com: http://blogs.disney.com/oh-my-disney/2014/03/07/see-the-full-mondo-disney-poster-gallery-for-nothings-impossible/
